A beautiful scenario is unfolding...

Who is Dan WOlken and why do we care what this idiot thinks? Hasn't he been terribly wrong about the Canes the past 2 weeks...seems like using history as a guide for him being wrong again with his playoff scenario is a safe bet

If Bama wins out and Ohio State beats Whisky (both likely) AND we win our next two, there is no CREDIBLE scenario that keeps us out of the playoffs even if we lose the ACC Championship game. Only a blowout of us (not happening) raises any doubt. Worst case, it would be Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and us.

If you read the tweets of Wolken and others this morning you'll see that there is a thread of bias that says in no scenario will Miami lose the ACCCG and still get in the playoff.

Thank u sir

A lot can happen the last three weeks.
We’re in a good spot. Need to BTFO UVA and Pitt

Give me a scenario where we don’t get in based on what I said. A one loss Whisky? A two loss Ohio State? A two loss Washington or USC? Not happening...

Kidding right? They hate us, so a two loss OSU is in and we are out. Heck, we could be Clemson and get in with a 2 loss Clemson getting in TOO but not us with one loss. We need to win to be in.

if we lose the the ACC game they would have Ohio st go if they win out. feel like they dont look at the loss column

If we lose the ACCG and Auburn wins out they could get a CFP bid with 2 losses. They would have bean #1 UGA, #1 Bama, and then won a rematch with a top 10 UGA team in the SEC CG.

We have to win out, including Clemson.

The Committee will somehow view our loss to Clemson as "worse" than their loss to Syracuse, because there's a false narrative about their QB being injured.

See, if you're a top team, and about to lose, have your QB limp and the L doesn't count.

If the committee is actually taking that into account they are total incompetents.

The key word is CREDIBLE. They will find a way to keep us outta there. Doesn’t have to be fair.

I dont see us losing to clemson. HONESTLY! If we play like we've played the last 2 weeks, we can beat everybody. buma plays like nd, just a bit faster. clemson the same thing. I'm very impressed with this secondary, really, they're playing head and shoulders above the rest.

The committee will put us in for now, but if we lose I think they'll take some other 1 loss over us. They'll say we don't have enough quality wins or something. I wouldn't be surprised if VT and/or ND lose some more at which point, everybody will forget that they expected us to lose those games and how we overperformed.

Whatever. Nothing we can do but win them all and force them to respect us.

WHO is this one loss team in my scenario? It can only be Wisconsin. Are you really saying that a one loss Wisconsin coming off a championship game loss beats out us coming off a championship game loss? Come on it ain’t happening. Already the polls are showing there isn’t this strong bias against that many are referencing. The nation is embracing the Chain Gang.

You'd really be that surprised if the committee thought OSU or Auburn with 2 losses were better than 1 loss Miami? They would each have more "quality" wins than we would and people love that. Look at all the respect ND got for the Georgia loss...it was almost as good as a win. Depending on what happens, I can absolutely see a 2 loss team getting put ahead of us.

Whatever, lets see how this plays out.

What's amazing to me is that Ohio St. still shows up in possible playoff scenarios, despite getting beat at home by Oklahoma by a considerable margin and getting flat out dominated at Iowa.

It's ridiculous. They pretty much get a pass for 2 losses...already up to 8th in AP & Coaches polls with the Big10 CG to come. Last year, they got a pass for not even playing for their conference championship & got abused by Alabama. The Big10/midwestern "good ole boy" bias is sickening. Hypothetically speaking, they'd have no business being considered for a playoff spot over a 1-loss Miami team that lost to the defending champs in the ACC title game.

since when is dan wolken credible?

if bama wins out --> eliminates UGA and Auburn

if ohio state wins out --> eliminates wisconsin (ohio state is eliminated already even with Big 10 championship game due to iowa loss.... exactly same scenario last year with penn state who won the big ten but got blown out by michigan and were left out)

would be

bama
oklahoma
clemson
Miami

no way a two loss team gets in over us, and i believe miami, clemson, and oklahoma would be the only one loss teams in this scenario
