The narrative is different because they beat ranked and good opponents. Their schedule last year was significantly more difficult than ours. Quit the media victim bs. We are getting what we deserve. Beat VT and ND then we are a top 4 team, lose to VT and they were right.

Lol at yet another ridiculous comparison to 2016 Clemson. Five of those one-possession wins were against ranked opponents, including Alabama, Louisville, Auburn, FSU, and VA Tech.

We don’t have one comparable win yet.

Speaking of Clemson, did you see the way they beat up GA Tech. Had a couple of our wins been dominant like that, we would get the benefit of the doubt and not fall in the rankings.

Regardless, as others have said, we’ll be in the top four if we win the next two games.

They beat GT by 14 points, not sure that is so dominant. And of course you leave out the 2016 NC St game they should've lost.

Only our "fanbase" has posters dumb enough to literally argue against Miami.

And here's a newsflash, since you don't get it: If we win the next 2, we STILL WON'T BE TOP 4. The new excuse will be that VT and ND just aren't that good.

Could not disagree more. If we beat VT and ND, we’ll be in the top four. If not, THEN we’d have a legitimate complaint about the rankings.

i'm surprised we didn't fall further. That game against a team that had only one W all year (against Old Dominion) impressed no one. Plus, FSU and GT could easily have been L's. Not the performance of a Top 10 team.

And everyone that claims to not care about polls needs to realize that (not specific to just this season) they're ceding that we're NEVER making the Playoff unless we're an undefeated team. Because all the early polling and narrative/propaganda shaping determines which 1 loss teams get in. It's why I'm such a strong advocate for expansion to an 8 team Playoff with objective and not subjective standards for at least 5 of those slots.

Do you really want teenagers to be playing potentially 16 games in a season? I'll take the four-game playoff...

1. If this is a major concern, how about you drop a game from the regular season? Remove a cupcake game.

2. The four-game playoff model creates too many potential problems. 8 is the magic number. 5 conference champions + 3 At-large.

Exactly. Player "safety" and "teenagers" was also one of the weakest arguments against a few extra teams playing one addl game a year.

It's also so horrible to see all those kids from Division I-AA, Division II, and Division III who are lifelong cripples due to the extra couple of games that the playoff teams have to play.

The undefeated major teams should ALWAYS be ranked above any team with a loss. WI and us should be ranked above a OSU team that could not even hold serve against OU and had to get lucky to beat psu, but SEC and OSU always get the nod these days. Back in the day, FSU never fell much losing to us and ended up going up the polls right behind us. They got famous for losing close games to us. Now, and maybe starting with the year before our last NC when we bet fsu late and they still got to play for the title, popular darlings get favorite treatment.

We will end up in playoff IF and only IF we go undefeated. Given our performance over the last 15 years that is all we can expect. Once we are in, we will again have our chance to turn college football upside down one more time. This sort of treatment is good for our team and HC. The team needs to know that being a Cane means to take what you want because it will never be given to you. In case getting his rear fired wasn't enough, Mark needs to understand that he is no longer some admired St Bobby assistant or easy mark the the real powers while under performing at UGA. He is a Cane again and that mean kid rear or get spit on, period. Team and coach need to understand that cruel and unusual punishment for everyone is the only acceptable performance grade. Fear or disrespect are the only two emotions a Cane can expect. The choice is now theirs.
