#9 Eljah Lofton blocking vs BCC

I literally mentioned Brahman tho
No. No you didn't. At least not in the comment that I replied to.
And this response is exactly what I was talking about. You're steering away from the real content/issue and trying to make it about some thing else. My original comment was about Lofton's injury being detrimental to the team and at what point does it makes sense for him to hit the sidelines. In case youhave amnesia or have been enjoying that fine California Kush, I copied and pasted it below.

And who is Brahman?

Bro are you just not reading the last sentence of the quote you were responding to? I'm confused lol. And lets not act like you don't know who that autocorrected from... come on now. I'll underline it in red for you lmao

Him playing can only be detrimental to the team if he is worse than the players he's playing over. Obviously.... Or if playing through the injury can make the injury worse or prolong the recovery time (instead of more ripping the bandaid off)

You are correct - I did miss that. Perhaps your spelling could be to blame, but I'll give you a pass. You're right, the auto correct is on me; I should've known that. Please accept my most heartfelt apology.

Now that we've played your little game of moving the target until you can say you're right, let's get back to the point I was making - which was not about BAUMAN, Schott or Gilbert. It was about Lofton's injury being a detriment. I made no mention of any of the other tight ends. None. Somehow, I got lumped in with "y'all." I'm not y'all. That's my beef. Not the spelling of Bauman's name. Not Brock Schott. Not Luka Gilbert. Not anything else. Don't include me in a category because YOU made an assumption that I was one of "y'all" that wanted to "see Schott play 7 snaps against Bethune and he should be starter already."

"Maybe he's playing cuz he's better" That's a valid answer. As is "Him playing can only be detrimental to the team if he is worse than the players he's playing over." Why the need for all the other nonsense? I don't really care enough about this topic to fight with you to "win" some invisible prize. I am 100% pushing back hard on what you're doing because this country needs to stop making so many assumptions....like when I assumed you smoke California pot. Maybe you live in Arizona now and smoke their pot? Maybe you don't smoke pot at all? I have no idea, but I do know that we can all do better.....starting with me seeing Bauman/Brahman/Beaumann's name.
I hope this makes sense and isn't too snide.

Lol y'all see Schott play like 7 snaps against Bethune and he should be starter already. Tell me is Schott going to be a better blocker? Was Gilberts dropped pass that impressive? Beaumans game against ND was bad too lol.
Maybe he's playing cause he's still better...
Lofton has been always been mid and thats fine bc hes in year 2. Gilberts "dropped" pass was literally a hospital ball from emory

He looked better blocking against Bethune Cookman than he did against Notre Dame????

🤯

John Cena What GIF
He was hammered last week and rightfully so regarding his missed blocks against the Overrated and Defeated Domers. Upon a 2nd watch I have to say he was much improved vs BCC. Obviously against lesser competition but he looked better. I only spotted 1 kinda missed block, RB coulda gone off his shoulder. Still would like him to be more physical. Onward!

Did you guys notice this as well?

Not sure what you're trying to do here

As D money said, he's hurt. He's trying to play through the injury. We should be giving him credit rather than being negative. Just remember, Bain last year when he was playing through an injury, he was nowhere near as effective as he was the year before or this year.
Respect him gutting it out, but after watching him the first two games he should rest up and get healthy. Think the team would be in a better place had Schott gotten his snaps first two games.

during ND, he came off the field various expressing pain in his left shoulder. he has a brace on the shoulder
He definitely was leading with his right shoulder like a guy who didn't want to square up vs. Notre Dame. This would honestly explain some of the technique issues.

Obviously I didn't do a UFR on an FCS team without a pulse, but I'm looking forward to that healing and seeing how he does.

agreed. his blocking was better and so was 87's. as someone on here said, maybe you, last year's TE blocking got better as the year progressed. maybe this year will be the same.

Sounds like he is hurt. Considering the opponent for the 1st game this season was ND, I see why Lofton played…u want your best guys. With that being said, it was clear as day he couldn’t perform his simple blocking assignments. If he still can’t do that then he shouldn’t be playing and the staff should be preparing Schott and Gilbert to fill in while he heals.

We'd read one of your UFRs if it was on an U7 pop warner game.

"Ok, this is where Johhny and Latavius need to step.up their game. No picking daisies in the backfield as the ball is being snapped, pay attention to your blocks!"

What if he just can’t block?
This is the most likely answer..he’s what 6’1-6’2? 225-230 at TE trying to block DEs lol wtf are we expecting

Just put him at RB and stop wasting time, we could flex him to wr sometimes, he could be our 3rd down back

I only agree with this just to see Brock on the field at all times

Lofton flinched on his split blocks multiple times, as @Lance Roffers already mentioned. Vs ND, that'll get you on the bench.

I don't know whether he is still recovering or whether he fights through it, but I don't want a TE with a shoulder injury blocking an EDGE that's 240+ on a split zone. Forget the technique standpoint, A) it will worsen his injury and B) it will damage the endproduct of the play.

Lofton is our version of Jonnu Smith in every sense of the word - an H-Back that needs the football in his hands regardless of the area of the football field. I never saw him being the traditional inline guy, he's more of the movement player Joe Gibbs dreamed about when designing his offense. Maybe Lofton is better laterally, because that's Jonnus only weak point that prevents him from being an elite TE.
