9-3 at worst

UNC lost to a poor South Carolina team. We play them on the road, so that is ominous. If we are not dealing with too many injuries, we should beat them handily.

Virginia and Pittsburgh have no chance against us, and Cincinatti cannot deal with our talent (especially on offense). Cincinatti game is at home. VTech's offense is atrocious.... That alone is 8 wins. Duke cannot deal with our athletes, but the game is in Durham and their coach is superior to ours.

A bad coach wins 8 and a mediocre coachs reaches 9-wins. (10 is 50%/50%, iin my opinion.)

This team is screaming 8-4, considering the schedule. Could go 9-3 or 7-5, giving Golden's resume I'm leaning to 7-8 wins. Then what is the BOT going to do?

That's a pretty easy answer in my view. 7-5 Golden is out, 9-3 he stays. The question comes in if/when he goes 8-4 this year. My guess is he's safe at 8-4 unless there's a complete collapse at the end of the season like we've seen the past few years.

So what's the point here?

All I'm reading is how our schedule has plenty of ****** teams to land us at 9-3. Is this what our fanbase has become?

Pathetic.

A new low.

miami CAN beat every team on the schedule, our coaching has to improve tremendously though. I know some of you are down on the team but Miami played really well for the first 50 minutes of the game and then the refs kept Nebraska in the game with the non holding calls and the 2 tds called back. We also lost bush, Carter, grace, McCord at times as well late.

Yea the first 3 quarters we look like a top 10 team

A new low.

Most posters here would be absolutely content with 9-3.

There are no longer championship expectations at this school. We fulfill our goals this season by merely GETTING to the game. I mean ****, last night was a "signature win."

Remember when signature wins involved knocking off ranked teams?

I'm sorry but who, other than maybe Mrs. Golden and some of the slurpers in the fan base, are calling last night a signature win? Maybe I'm crazy but in my mind a signature win is beating a team like UCLA in 1999. Beating a horrific Nebraska team devoid of talent in most areas is not even in the same galaxy as a signature win.

In the past we lose this Game in OT

we blew a fkin 23 point lead with 11 minutes to go. your acting like it was a close fought game and we pulled through lmao.

that "we won a game we woulda lost in the past" reasoning is idiotic. nothing at all impressive about that win.
no.. i'm acting like we give up a lead, the team gets down on itself, and ends up losing.. in this case we pulled through and got the W.. ****.. last year the team quit on the season after the fsu loss.. these guys didn't quit on the game.

This seems difficult for you.

We were up 33-10 in the 4th qtr. The game went into overtime. Nothing about this game eludes fighting back to win. You're creating a narrative where it doesn't exist.

This game was not a dog fight which we fought to win. This game was not a blow out (against UM), which we manage to comeback and win. We collapsed and were fortunate a turnover happened in overtime, because a terribly bad pass was made. The QB's target was WIDE OPEN by the way, and the QB was on a roll out with little to no pressure. There was more luck involved in that play than scheme and playmaking.

This narrative about guys not quitting is the most ridiculous crap. By definition, they somewhat quit since Nebraska was able to come back and push the game into overtime. How dense can some of you be?

Lol, the play wasn't a rollout. It was a straight PA drop back and Armstrong was running because of the pass rush. He did get a good amount of time at first, then our DT's broke through the middle and made him have to move. Had we had bad coverage, the time he had would have made it easy for a completion, however the coverage was so good it led to us being able to get pressure and cause a mistake.

You guys are so negative about every single thing around the program. It's a joke how half of this board calls themselves fans. You're just pessimistic people who follow the program.

Those saying 4-5 wins at 3-0 are idiots.

Pretty much.

I said all along we'd win 8, possibly 9. The way the season is playing out though, 10 doesn't really seem out of the realm of possibility.

I also keep saying this means he'll be back to all our dismay.

The pass was under thrown plain and simple. He had 6-7 seconds with no pressure, then he rolled out after Jenkins broke through. He made a bad decision and a bad throw. We got lucky. He could have easily ran it and gashed us again, and your dumb *** would still be here defending this ****** program.

I had no idea the real fans are the ones accepting this mediocrity. Seems strange since the fans of this program have always demanded national championships. Now, the slurpers are just happy when the schedule is soft and can possibly lead us to a nine win season. GTFOOH.

Don't worry, I look forward to hear the excuses soon enough. You guys NEVER learn and please GTFO of this fan base. You guys are enabling the ****** athletic department and BOT.

You just admitted he had 6 or 7 seconds before he rolled out. He had just under 4, which was still too much. Why do you think he didn't throw the ball during those 3.75 seconds? Do you think maybe we had their guys covered up? Why did he make a bad throw? Maybe because we made him throw on the run into double coverage?

Why didn't he run it like he did most of the 4th? I don't know, maybe because we had guys near the line spying on him and in their zones? I'm not accepting mediocrity. I have hated on this staff as much as anyone when they've deserved it. But I also have common sense and can understand why things happen on the football field. I don't over exaggerate everything and act like their QB had 10 seconds in the pocket and just held onto the ball for the lulz. The reason he didn't throw it was because our coverage was good. The reason he didn't run is because we had that contained at the line with our backers. The reason he rolled out was because the pressure broke through the middle of the line. The reason it was picked was because we had 2 defenders right there.

Yet, despite all of that, you'll still sit here and complain about everything and refuse to accept the fact that this team actually is 3-0 despite you claiming they'd get steamrolled and be 4-8.

Please..... FSU barely beat BC and Kaaya is MUCH better than their QB. There is a good chance that UM beats FSU.

He will undoubtedly lose either the Clemson or GTech game, and probably both because his teams seem to swoon, but the players on this team are too talented to lose more games than 3.

Worst case, 9-3, and base case = 10-2. They will clobber Golden in the Bowl game, though.

They may still fire him because next year's team will contend and you may not want to waste such a team to a mediocre coach.....
BC has tremendous D, just no O. UNC has a totally new D under Chizik and they already had a good O. So don't write in wins for either FSU or UNC.

Sorry guys, but this team consists of warriors. At worst, they end the season 9-3, but most likely end up 10-2. This team fought until the end. Golden returns next year.

Are you the same caneproponent who posts on the Grassy baseball board and pretends to know insiders and slurps up Jim Morris
on the regular?
Same fella who after the baseball team won 2 of 3 against Rutgers in the 2014 season opener declared that UM was going
to the CWS because of that monumental series win against a "very good" Rutgers team?
I hope not, because that guy is a pompous dimwit.

Do you morons realize Golden might have to play in the ACC championship game AND a bowl game if we go 9-3 during the regular season?

Is Golden only judged on his regular season? I be the mopes here would be tickled pink if wins 9 and gets blown out by FSU and a decent bowl opponent.
