9-3? 10-2? 8-4? Coastal Championship?

Whats the word on the skreets?

You think 10-2? (That should guarantee a Coastal and a ACC CG)

9-3? (Maybe ACC CG)

8-4? (no nada for the Coastal)

I say two stone cold, solid lock losses against Free Shoes and ND.

And two L's against the UNC, VT and GT Coastal matchups. But no Goldenesque losses to UVA, Pitt, etc.

8-4, third in the Coastal. A shame, as the Coastal will once again be the weakest division by far in the Power five.

Maybe we pull off 2 wins against GT, VT and UNC., but with a default ACC loss against FSU, it still puts us at second or tied for first with a head to head loss and no ACC CG (We should win all three)

Seriously, 8-4 and no Coastal has to be a failed season. Fedora or Fuentes winning the Coastal doesnt bode well for CMR. I really hope we do better, but I'm calling 8-4.

How the **** is the FSU game a solid lock for an L??? these past 2 years we shouldve won BOTH games, but terrible coaching got in our way. with this new staff that was upgraded at EVERY SINGLE POSITION, its logical to see that Miami should win, especially at home.

U guys are nuts... Seriously take off the tinted glasses

All you guys predicting 11-1, 10-2 season this year need to take a deep breath of fresh air.

As much as I love Miami, we are not there yet.

New coaches, concepts, schemes and system... takes more then a few summer practices to nail it down.

9 and 3 and maybe Coastal.

WHICH WOULD BE A HUGE STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION.

So tell me, why the **** did we fire Golden? He won 9 in 2013 against an equally crappy schedule. Our coaching staff is the best we've had here in many, many years. The leap we are about to make won't be baby steps. These kids, especially the ones on D, have been absolutely dying to get out there and get after someone. We hired the best DL coach in America. We hired a DC that wants to let them loose to attack. You think this won't mean more wins? Then look at the O. A solid group of RBs. One of the best QBs in the country. One of the best offensive minds calling plays. I swear, if we don't see a huge jump in quality in year one, I would be very shocked. We are about to reintroduce the Miami Hurricanes to the college football world in a big way, and you're still expecting Al Golden results. I'm not expecting Al Golden results anymore. He's gone, as are all of his ideologies. Did I mention Techmo Coley is gone as well??? That alone is good for at LEAST one more win.

with how bad atleast years staff was I'd say you'd have to give the team 2 more wins which means we will go 10-2. with ND and a coastal team loss. our new staff is better at every position and its not as hard as some people think to adjust to an attacking defense, especially since just about all of these kids played that way in high school! smh. The only realistic losses this year are road games and the 2 that stand out are ND and VT other than that we should win all the others. This year begins our new home winning streak!

As the CFP playoff has taken hold and will continue to evolve, like in the NFL, "two seasons" have emerged.

When the playoffs start, do you think the majority of teams [NFL] or players care about who they lost to during the regular season? Perhaps a touch if they are in a difficult wild card slot, but otherwise they are just happy to be there. Taking it to the NCAA level, how are Ole Miss's x2 straight regular season wins against Bama working out for them NC-wise? Think the Ole Miss fan base would trade those x2 Ws for the last x2 NCs?

For me, I couldnt care less about our Canes' "regular season" W-L against who and where...what's more important is the longer view: 1) do they make an ACCCG appearance; and 2) do they make a CFP appearance?

Let me be clear, I WANT the Canes to crush FSU and ND each and everytime they match up. IF you ask me what would I prefer, Canes W over FSU/ND or a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP? Not even a thought...Ill take every loss to FSU/ND in the same season the Canes go on to win the National Championship.

For #2 , for the foreseeable future, #1 is a must ALONG WITH winning that game. How do the Canes get to the ACCCG? Win every Coastal Division game. End of story. Lose even a single Coastal Division game, then they have put themselves into a position where they [Canes] need some help...maybe a little, maybe alot. The point is they control their ACCCG appearance destiny by winning every Coastal Division game.

Now, win the ACCCG against a quality opponent, and then the "who is seeded where" conversation begins (informed by regular season perfromance) that will set the stage for the CFP.

In the words of Big Daddy Mora..."Playoffs? Don't talk about—playoffs?! You kidding me? Playoffs?! I just hope we can win a game! Another game!"...

Just win every Coastal Division game. Period.

I think we will all be surprised at the new home field advantage we are about to have. It's going to be a thing of beauty.

I think we can definitely win every coastal game but I know that the Coastal is notorious for ******* **** up predictions wise, so I will just assume 1 loss to a coastal team and hope im wrong. But if we go to the ACCCG, and most likely face Clemson, I think it will be ALOT closer than 58-0 but I believe as of right now they are still the better team so I'd wager on us getting the OB bowl game while Clemson makes the playoffs again

I already have season tickets and im itching to go! I just hope fans show up because even at 40,000 strong that stadium will be rocking! and at 60,000+?? My lord that stadium might collapse!

I just looked at ESPN to take another look at our schedule and they have a new FPI tab that i never saw before, i clicked on it and wanted to throw up... they said we had a 18.4% chance to beat FSU, a 49.4% chance to beat UNC, and a 27.4% chance to beat ND. Chance of winning Conference? 3.1%...... safe to say ESPN still hates us :)

Let's see how the data on that tab changes during the season...

Bunch of clowns in here. He saying because a few teams in the acc have new coaches they will be playing well. But our new coach is going to lose to them because our team has new schemes and can't learn them over 1 summer. Bye felicia.

Yeah that didnt make sense to me lmao. They also act like going from a passive, read-react defense, to an aggressive defense is soooo hard to do when just about all of these kids played in one in high school smh

Call me crazy but I think we're better then every single team we play this year.

understandable, but the only game i see as the most likely game to lose is ND because of location and they arent that bad of a team. at the same time we can definitely go up there and win

Played it their whole football lives, for that matter. It's about to get really good...

6-2 wins the coastal.

UNC will drop the FSU and Miami game
Vt will drop the UNC and Miami game
Miami will drop two but beat UNC and VT to win it

Last year we win 11 games if Richt is here. Cincy, Fsu, & Wazzu all W's. So in my eyes we're returning everybody (excpet artie & deon) fron an 11 win team. Idk about you guys but when 11 win teams return everybody they usually ball the **** out the following year. I put ZERO limits on this season. When you have a QB like Kaaya & a DL like we have you can play with anybody.

Cant blame the pessimistic fans. We have been garbage for over a decade and us optimitic fans keep claiming every year is the year. I understand. But just know its different this time. We have the best coach we have had since Jimmy Johnson. For the first time, we have a proven winner. As D$ said, look at the difference in the coaches salaries from the past. You get what you pay for, and were in it to win. Goldens gone. Randys gone. The curse of Shalala is gone!!! We started fresh and theres no reason we shouldnt dominate this season. Have faith.

Agree with this. We upgraded at every single coaching position, all our players finally got training with a real strength coach, and were going into this season with arguably the best QB in college football. Bottom line, if Kayyaa steps up to the plate this season, we dont lose. Im all aboard the hype train man. I think we have every right to this year

Nope-I'll tell you exactly what that means. It means Vegas will have us as a 12 to 13 point dog vs FSU and historically dogs win that game about 18% of the time. The UNC game will have us about a 1 pt dog and ND will be favored by about 9 vs the U. Its all math no hate.

gotcha. just from a percentage view it looks like its an expected blowout lol

I have us undefeated going into the ACCCG. We get FSU this year, and the ND game will be a war that will come down the the final possession.

Clemson vs Miami for a chance to go to the playoffs.

I can't predict the winner.
