8 in coaches poll

Never thought I'd paraphrase Hillary Clinton, but at this point, what difference does it make? OK, suppose we are 7 and they are 8. Not a **** thing is different about our chances at making playoffs or winning ACC Coastal. If we are talking about difference between 4 and 5, then raise ****. It's just silly at this point for there to be four different threads of people complaining that we aren't one spot higher or think it's a travesty of justice and /or Jim Crow-era racism because we one spot behind a one loss team that as of today, still wears the crown as champion of college football.

Also, putting aside who beat whom, any team they forces 4 first half turnovers (a season high in all college football) but only gets 10 points off that should be deeply embarrassed. Unless you are going up against the Steel Curtain defense (and I don't think the Cuse D qualifies), 10 points is appalling. That simply can't be rewarded, even if you manage to get the W.

They'll say that Clemson's loss to GT was more impressive than Miami's win over GT...because that's how they spun both teams' games vs Cuse.
 
penn state is knocked off this weekend we move up one
nc state, GT, or FSU will beat Clemson no doubt in my mind
we play notre dame
ohio state beats Wisconsin championship game
tcu loses to either texas, Oklahoma, or iowa state (maybe not I see them going undefeated)

See this is why I dont root for the ACC teams like some people root for fsu to br ranked its all BS, just win and your in

Clemson clearly was more impressive staying home than we were beating the team that worked them over last week. Maybe if the can get bye weeks until the day after the NC game, they will jump bama too.

It's not so much that I think we should be ranked higher. We really haven't been all that impressive or played with anything resembling consistency. But cotdamnit, what did Clemson do this week to jump us? If Syracuse was a scrub that we should have beat by 30 this week then what were they last week? Clemson is back atop their division this week because of us, not anything they did. They're alive in the division and back in control of their destiny because of us. There is no excuse for them being ranked in front of us.
 
Coaches shouldn't really be overly concerned about rankings...BUT as a motivational tool, if I'm CMR, I'm convening a meeting pre-'practice and telling the team that they are being disrespected and it's up to you AND me and our staff to double down on this great start and show no mercy and that starts this Saturday when we BURY UNC!

Just re-watched the game on espn3. Suggest you do the same if you think we should have moved up in rankings. Our performance was generally pathetic. OL could not get ANY push for most of the game. Got manhandled at LOS by SU undersized d-line, finally at end of game the SU D was worn out so we had more holes. Pass pro was decent overall but Rosier very nearly gave the ball back ( just before Homer's game sealing run) by forcing a pass to Berrios in double coverage when he was scrambling. He has to be smarter than that. Play calling was questionable, stopped using TE even though obvious mismatch. And then the drops. No need to say more about that.

On defensive side of ball, we got gashed big time in the run game. We were still the better team, but it was ugly.

Neg away, but if the Canes team that showed up against SU shows up against ND or VT they are going to embarrass us.

This is moronic and I call BS. Beating an 1-2 FSU team and we are top 5? I never heard anyone say that stupidity. Even if we beat a undefeated FSU team, we wouldn't make the top 5 because we were so high in the polls. Just win. It really is that simple. Beat VT and ND and we jump a lot of 1 loss schools.
