I don't totally disagree with what you are saying. But the point is that there is no logic to getting jumped by a team on bye week that just lost to the team that UM beat. The poll can't undervalue the UM win over Syracuse and then overvalue the Clemson loss to Syracuse at the same time.

Don’t be so sure.

First, of course, we have to win what are going to be very tough games for this team at this stage in its progression.

Assuming we pull that off, after today, if there are four or more undefeated teams ahead of us, there is too much Miami hate to put us in the top four. Just real talk.

Notre Dame will also be ranked ahead of UM after next week. The media will do whatever they can to promote Alabama, ND, Ohio St., and Penn St.

Wouldn’t surprise me.

But let’s just assume (it’s a big assumption) we win the next three games - NC, and VagTech and ND at home - unless there are a couple of losses up above of us, they will definitely keep us out of the top 4.

Mark it down. I’ll bet money.

If you take off the Hurricane jerseys and attach our resume to another other team this year we'd be looking in from the outside criticizing the **** out of said team and calling them a fraud.

We still have proving to do...and quite frankly Richt's play calling scares the **** out of me in games against equal or greater competition. The truth is about 3 weeks away, we'll all know soon enough.

We also beat Georgia Tech with a litany of injuries. No one was willing to give us a benefit of the doubt, especially since we also won. We just beat the team that Clemson lost to. You can attach resumes if you'd like. But we beat the team that beat them. We're undefeated.
 
Until Miami dominates somebody, there will be doubt. Nothing matters if they don't win anyway. I could see them looking ahead to VT this week. I don't think UNC has the talent to win, barring turnovers, but I could see them coming out flat. Doesn't matter though, as long as they win.

Theres no way they would keep us out of the top 4 with potential wins over ND and VT. We would have a better resume than georgia at that point OOC included.
 
Let's not forget about Ohio State. They got throttled by Oklahoma (who lost to Iowa State) and then proceeded to beat up on Army, UNLV, Rutgers, Maryland, and Nebraska. No matter what they claim, running up the score on clearly inferior teams still gets the attention of the pollsters.

No undefeated power 5 team should be behind a one loss team in week 9. That’s absurd.

We should be ahead of Wisconsin

But it is what it is. Only way to fight it is to just keep winning
 
1. If the WRs catch the passes they were supposed to, we win by 20+. Then I think the criticism of being #8 is warranted. As it is, the execution on offense was generally poor. It was nothing SU did, just our players dropping fairly routine passes. Just too many mistakes. If I had a vote, I wouldn't drop us, but I wouldn't move us up either. And honestly, if we are facing Clemson (even with a backup qb) and our offense executes as poorly as they did yesterday, we are going to get embarrassed. We CAN beat them, but we will have to play mistake free football. As much as I like the transitive property (we beat the team that beat the team ahead of us), I generally suspend that notion when it comes to teams that are defending national champs.

2. The Coaches Poll is a joke. Head coaches are far too busy to rank teams each week, and they also don't watch film on 25 teams. Some rando assistant fills it out for them. It's a garbage poll. It's like getting worked up because some homeless guy yells at you that Miami should be ranked 357th in college foosball.

Basically saying that Clemson jumped us because we didn’t blow out the team that beat them. Ridiculous!
