2016 defensive tackle Edwin Alexander (Hammond, La./St. Thomas Aquinas) was offered by Miami on Wednesday morning.

The 6-foot-2, 310-pound prospect has offers from the Hurricanes, LSU, Florida, Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Alexander is a five-star prospect according to 247Sports. He is the No. 3 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 9 player overall in 2016.

LSU lock.

He's already committed and decomitted from LSU so he could want to leave the state.

I asked one of the LSU guys about him n UM and he said he has interest and is open. Can't hurt to throw out offers to 5-Star DT ya know.

If not LSU this had Texas A&M or Bama all over it. Won't even monitor unless he visits

I'll wait to form an opinion on this until Paranos' wall of texts and videos, thank you very much.

NEXT.

We literally should have went down the list of the top 20 DT prospects. we bound to get one right?

Honestly, at that position, this staff should employ that Clappy Coker approach to recruiting...we aren't getting 'em down here. Hard to succeed when the big bag schools know how crucial those guys are...but wtf..can't hurt.

WRs dime a dozen. They don't demand elite $$$. So we have 55 committed. Elite DTs, however, don't go hungry in college. No chance.

U guys are tripping. DTs have to be coached up and thought technique. Thats where we are falling off. Lots of schools have pretty good DTs because they have good DL coaches who can spot kids with potential and get it out of them. To how Golden and No D loyals brag about Muhammad Wilkinson you would think that would be a strength. Instead we are waiting on players who are college elite from high school to have a semblance of a D. We'll see though.

Why in the world do we have so much trouble getting DT's? I really do want to know why with the lack of quality depth do we not have them banging down the doors.
