5-star WR Calvin Russell commits to [checks notes] Syracuse? For real, though... Syracuse

What exactly was the strategy? Legitimate question, as I have not really seen it spelt out.

Mario told him to take an "F"...

Just seems like we made the connection at Central and forgot to make it at the West. We haven’t gotten a recruit from the West since Cam…. With what we got out of him we should maybe take a few flyers on some kids from Northwestern. We gotta have at least two on the roster and fix this before 2028. If we don’t land Neimann Lawrence it’s gonna be a DISASTER

Good lord, what a stupid post. You can't even spell Kam's name right.

So, we got Kam Kinchens in the Class of 2021. Took Romello Brinson too. Kahlil Brantley too.

Took nobody 2022-2025.

Already have Jorday Campbell committed for 2026.

What were our choices?

2022: Jamari Sharpe, a 3-star who went to Indiana?

2023: Andy Jean, the only NW recruit in the Top 1000? Rayquan Adkins and Adam Moore? Seriously?

2024: Guylijah Theodule, a 3-star who went to Marshall?

2025: J'Vari Flowers is the ONLY possible miss in FOUR YEARS. 4-star Top 400 guy who chose Florida.

And that's the thing, people like you just invent some non-existent myth. In FOUR YEARS, Northwestern produced ONE 4-star recruit. He chose Florida. And, yeah, Syracuse got THREE Northwestern recruits last year. They were ranked 1,132 in the country, 1,980 in the country, and 2,439 in the country. That is not a typo. But your argument is that "we gotta have at least two on the roster", and apparently we should be fixing that by taking a "few flyers" on kids who aren't even ranked in the Top 1000.

Seems reasonable and rational...

Yeah that was the only game all year where I was remotely disappointed in the offense.

The crazy part was we still averaged 7 yards a play that game. It was just the only game of the season where we ran for fewer than 100 yards, and it was by far the worst 3rd down performance of the season.

In the other 11 games, our WORST 3rd down % was 44%, which is absolutely insane.

That game, we were 3/10.

We also had 6 times all regular season where we went for it on 4th down and didn't convert.

3 of those were against GT.

That's how you lose, plus your defense gives up 271 rushing yards to a team with a QB who doesn't have a throwing arm attached to his body.

Sigh...what a missed opportunity that was. We just needed to get to 30 that day and couldn't get there.
Also the one game we needed the OL to hold their blocks a second longer. JG came wide open on that last play Cam fumbled.

You couldn't name a single guy Miami should have recruited from MNW in the last 5 years other than Kam who we did recruit. You are a MAJOR source of the problem - Dade Cty football clown that overvalues their players. You are Uncle Luke.

PS: I am definitely not the Mario recruiting slurper you seem to think. Go check my posts. You're making a fool of yourself.
I named three! You don’t think Tywan Cox would’ve been a good addition to the roster?
Would’ve had hurt to take a flyer on an under the radar 300 pounder local Dt Eric Thomas? I do realize that we took another local one Donte Simpson, that seems to be working out. Do you think we could have used a 6’1 corner Jamari Sharpe?
I’m not saying that we take every player from dade, you are missing the point. MNW is a traditional national powerhouse that produces Big time talent. Right now they are loaded for the next few seasons with potentially one of the Best Quarterbacks nationally ranked. All I’m saying is we need to fix the problem. They had two other dbs outside of Cox that could’ve played here, I think the 4 dbs were state champs in track and to be honest we lack team speed. We picked up the kid with the broken leg and the other kid who they smoked on the track who everyone says is soft…

I didn’t say we shouldn’t keep a foot in MNW. I said Kam was a four star and to stop the cap. I specifically was referring to you calling him a three star. The rest of what you wrote is trying to force things into a narrative.

Again, I don’t get this allegiance to MNW and the examples you gave substantiate my point, not yours.
Kam was a three star brother, do your eyes not see. I’m not trying to downgrade Kam all I’m saying is let’s not play the we only recruit elite talent game that 247 considers elite. The West has had alot of recent three star guys that are in the league.

He was a four star composite. Sorry it doesn't fit your narrative.

I didn't say you were trying to downgrade Kam. I said you're not telling the truth. I gave proof, then you either made a lame attempt to gaslight me or you are the one with eye issues. Just to be REALLY clear here, Kam was a 3 star according to 247. He was a composite 4 star. I provided you with the "evidence" in my last reply (look toward the bottom of the screen shot, under the 247 three star) and your rebuttal is to try to pull the light off your lying by suggesting that my eyes don't see. I'm doing my best to keep this semi-polite because my wife tells me I need to be nicer. If you need an explanation of what the composite ranking is, ask. It's a better look.

Just to be clear. I don't have any issue with your OPINION that we need to recruit MNW. I am 100% calling you out for the false information you're sharing in order to try and bolster your position. I'm not sure why you keep fighting me on this nor why you keep moving the target.... first it was the Indiana kid and Thomas. Now it's all the 3 stars MNW has put in the league recently. I got it, you love MNW. Cool. Through the years they have indeed put out quite a bit of talent. None of that - none - applies to what we are talking about as it pertains to the recent recruits they've had that have gone elsewhere.

You literally named three JAGS that wouldn't have ever seen the field and I'm pretty confident 99% of board agrees with me.

It's insane that no other school has to deal with the bull**** that Miami does with "locals" *****ing about not recruiting JAGS as the reason top players leave town.

Yep Sharpe a 6’1 corner definitely could've played here, maybe we’ll get him out the portal in December. Cox can definitely play here and we took a flyer on Simpson over the 300 pounder that came out last year, which cancels out. I really don’t give a **** about rankings, my point is that they are a loaded moving forward with potentially one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. Cut the shhhh and fix the problem at the west! J'Vari Flowers was a big deal going to the gayturds also. Ring the Bell there is a problem on 71st, fix it Now, make sure Teddy is Good!
Jorday Campbell just transferred in, he was already committed let him suit up before we call him a Bull, this is his third high school, he may be a Spartan in August.

This is a kid that’s really serious about basketball, and playing both sports, at this point. It’s probably why the “big boys” of the college football world didn’t really pursue him. Not wanting to spend all them resources on a kid that only wants to be in the building half the time. A few schools, us included, was willing to take the risk.
I don't think we was willing to take that big of a risk lol 🤣

I wouldn't underestimate the stupidity of other fan bases.

Calvin Russell will make more money than Kevin Beard next year. This isn't recruiting anymore it's free agency. Once you mentally adjust to that. It won't trigger people so much when a South Florida kid leaves and gets paid alot of $$$ to play out of state. It's a business.

Man, you know I'm not mad at you.

But I'm just going to focus on one thing. "Fran Brown has a plan to take care of these athletes post graduation".

How? Out of his own pocket. And how is that ANY different from the snake oil that most head coaches have been selling for 100 years?

Oooooh, Fran Brown has a plan. WHAT IS IT? We know it is nothing current and tangible like, you know, money. Because Syracuse has very little to give. So, sure "hey kid, give up most of the financial certainty for the next few years to come here and then I'll take care of you post-graduation." Look, my friend, this is what a lot of coaching have been overselling for decades.

Look, Fran Brown has been a head coach for all of one year. He has no track record for delivering on thse glorious post-graduation promises. He is not the first new head coach to make a bunch of promises that will be impossible to keep if he does not win enough games.

Might these sound like great plans? Sure. And while I can't speak to Chanivia's personal post-graduate experiences, I **** well know that Miami football players have a pretty strong post-graduate bond, and there is no way MIAMI ALUM Mario Cristobal or anyone else in the Miami Football Family would fail to deliver on promises to a fellow alum (assuming Calvin had chosen Miami).

So, again, nothing personal, but not for a minute do I believe that Fran Brown can promise/deliver a single thing that Mario/Miami couldn't also promise/deliver WITH A STRONGER MULTI-DECADE TRACK RECORD OF DELIVERY.

why are yall coming at me about it? lol

I have stated what it is....stated the name of it...stated the parents of south florida recruit were speaking on it...s fla coaches as well. Yall could go look it up ya **** self if yall are invested. SYRACUSE 60

It aint me im not a fan of syracuse i dont care.

But its a lil confusing...Syracuse aint got no money or abag...ut EVERYONE says CJ was going to who had the big bag?. What is it .. Dame Diddy, Dame Daddy or Dame Dummy?

Mario just got beat for the kid.....it aint that serious...most dont like him as a player and want Keys out of Miss as the wr priority.

I'd like to close out the class with atleast 2 more wrs ...could be 1 from hs an 1 from the portal. Him coming off so early is good...they can focus on who they want to flip or who blows up sr szn they may have been tracking.
