5-star WR Calvin Russell commits to [checks notes] Syracuse? For real, though... Syracuse

Syracuse is 6-6 type team this season.

They lost a lot, and have a much tougher schedule.

Tennessee
@Clemson
@SMU
@Miami
@Georgia Tech
@Notre Dame

Pittsburgh-Better team this year than Cuse also.
Oh Fran is about to take a whipping. It's going to be fun to watch.

They have promised all them jobs.

This is what was stated in the group im in. That "impressed" all of the parents down here that they shot that recruiting pitch to. I think its called SYRACUSE 60.
No disrespect, but this marketing and salesmanship. First, a lot of schools make this pitch. Mark Richt started it at Georgia and did something similar here. What kind of jobs are we talking about? Do you need a degree? How many incoming freshmen will actually be in the program 4-5 yrs down the road?
As your cousin can likely attest, most kids don’t hang around Syracuse after leaving the program. It’s not a destination place. It’s not Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, etc. NY state is taxing the **** out of industry. So Syracuse has little and is slowly losing what it has.
Clever pitch, but parents/kids shouldn’t be so gullible. Now if NIL money is legit, that’s a different story.

You have no point lunatic! Sharpe is going into the fall as a starter after starting a few games last season with better numbers than our returning cornerbacks, who knows maybe we’ll throw a bag 💰 at him to come back home to the Culture after this season. The other two are incoming freshman! As for the Dt I trust Fran Brown’s evaluation over a Mario slurper like you and your master himself. Fran Brown has produced a freshman All American at Dt unlike your illah! Who knows maybe we’ll throw a bag 💰 at him to come back home to the Culture after this season, we didn’t even offer the Kidd!
As for Cox I don’t even have to go into detail about his pedigree or attributes but, who knows maybe we’ll throw a bag 💰 at him to come back home to the Culture after this season!
You couldn't name a single guy Miami should have recruited from MNW in the last 5 years other than Kam who we did recruit. You are a MAJOR source of the problem - Dade Cty football clown that overvalues their players. You are Uncle Luke.

PS: I am definitely not the Mario recruiting slurper you seem to think. Go check my posts. You're making a fool of yourself.

Nobody is getting on board with mediocrity. Don’t gaf what the class is ranked it’s lacking at a few positions and there is no problem with pointing that out. Idc about wr I believe we will always be able to find good wrs. DT recruiting is a major problem. LB recruiting is a big problem. Safety recruiting is becoming

You act like Georgia and other schools doesn’t use the portal just us gtfoh

Kam was a four star. Stop the cap.
Jamari Sharpe was a three star who wasn’t recruited by Manny. Maybe he will be 1st team All-B1G this fall, but I doubt it.
Eric Thomas was a lower three star and was recruited largely by mid programs. He hasn’t even played one season yet.

I don’t get this allegiance to MNW. Not like this.
If you don’t understand why we have to keep a foot in the West there isn’t much I can tell you brutha….

I didn’t say we shouldn’t keep a foot in MNW. I said Kam was a four star and to stop the cap. I specifically was referring to you calling him a three star. The rest of what you wrote is trying to force things into a narrative.

Again, I don’t get this allegiance to MNW and the examples you gave substantiate my point, not yours.

They’ve put more top 3 round players in the NFL then us in that time span by the tune of 28(A&M) to 17(Miami), these kids don’t care about your 6/7th round players who are never heard from again.
Yeah I believe as well that's what most kids are paying attention to. They have also been more relevant than us in that time span as well so I don't see why ppl would think a kid wouldn't view them as a more interesting spot.

Except GaTech.

Yeah that was the only game all year where I was remotely disappointed in the offense.

The crazy part was we still averaged 7 yards a play that game. It was just the only game of the season where we ran for fewer than 100 yards, and it was by far the worst 3rd down performance of the season.

In the other 11 games, our WORST 3rd down % was 44%, which is absolutely insane.

That game, we were 3/10.

We also had 6 times all regular season where we went for it on 4th down and didn't convert.

3 of those were against GT.

That's how you lose, plus your defense gives up 271 rushing yards to a team with a QB who doesn't have a throwing arm attached to his body.

Sigh...what a missed opportunity that was. We just needed to get to 30 that day and couldn't get there.

They had that 11 min drive and they realized at that point just make the game as slow and methodical as possible.

I'd assume we have 2-3 less possessions that game that other (at least).

I was there. I lived it.

I stated b4 im in a s.fla group and they (parents) all were lamenting how syracuse n fran brown has a plan to take care of these athletes post graduation etc...im trying to remember if it was his parents in there talking about how impressive it was i know flowers (db going to uf) parents were...they almost landed him as well.

Man, you know I'm not mad at you.

But I'm just going to focus on one thing. "Fran Brown has a plan to take care of these athletes post graduation".

How? Out of his own pocket. And how is that ANY different from the snake oil that most head coaches have been selling for 100 years?

Oooooh, Fran Brown has a plan. WHAT IS IT? We know it is nothing current and tangible like, you know, money. Because Syracuse has very little to give. So, sure "hey kid, give up most of the financial certainty for the next few years to come here and then I'll take care of you post-graduation." Look, my friend, this is what a lot of coaching have been overselling for decades.

Look, Fran Brown has been a head coach for all of one year. He has no track record for delivering on thse glorious post-graduation promises. He is not the first new head coach to make a bunch of promises that will be impossible to keep if he does not win enough games.

Might these sound like great plans? Sure. And while I can't speak to Chanivia's personal post-graduate experiences, I **** well know that Miami football players have a pretty strong post-graduate bond, and there is no way MIAMI ALUM Mario Cristobal or anyone else in the Miami Football Family would fail to deliver on promises to a fellow alum (assuming Calvin had chosen Miami).

So, again, nothing personal, but not for a minute do I believe that Fran Brown can promise/deliver a single thing that Mario/Miami couldn't also promise/deliver WITH A STRONGER MULTI-DECADE TRACK RECORD OF DELIVERY.

C’mon, clearly this kid was a huge fan of the Orange or Orangemen…or whatever growing up, that much is obvious. Once you enter the Carrier Dome pop up tent, it’s over….no need for other visits.

Perhaps Chanivia Broussard's favorite basketball games were against Syracuse?

I'm finding it hard to figure this out. Oh, right, Syracuse hired some guy from South Florida...I'm sure it's a lifetime job that he will never leave...
