Local 2027 five-star Miami Hurricanes point guard target Cayden Daughtry has been putting on a show during the Peach Jam in North Augusta, South Carolina.
Daughtry hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he plays high school basketball at Calvary Christian Academy. He represents the Florida Rebels on the AAU circuit. This week he averaged a total of 32.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 3.5 steals.
He has broken the five-game Nike EYBL Peach Jam Pool Play scoring record, which was previously held by Cam Thomas (29.5 PPG). Daughtry scored 43 points in a win over NY Rens, 35 points against UPlay Canada, 34 points against Team Thad, and 32 points against Team Melo.
Daughtry has received offers from schools such as Miami, Kentucky, Florida State, Iowa, UConn, Arizona State, and Michigan, among others. According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a five-star prospect. Daughtry ranks as the nation's No. 11 overall player, No. 4 point guard, and No. 5 player out of the Sunshine State.
This past season with Calvary Christian Academy, he recorded 26.5 points per game, 5.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.7 steals. He led the Eagles to a overall record of 24-1, and accompanied the FHSAA Class 3A Championship.
According to close sources, the Iowa Hawkeyes are the team to watch closely in his recruitment. The Hurricanes are actively pursuing him and trying to make him stay close to home. The Florida Rebels are currently in the semifinals of the Peach Jam, with a chance to win the championship.
