Yup, exactly.

It's amazing how many people follow recruiting, but forget the biggest recruiting factor of all. Proximity to the school most recruits eventually choose.

e.

I think in today's world, although still important, it's nowhere near as big a factor as it used to be. Outside of a lot of Bayou kids (LSU), and for some reason Ohio kids...Hometown school wins less than ever nowadays (still wins sometimes, but it's a very small world nowadays and of course bags being thrown around). Both those areas bat for a high average with their kids, obv LSU kids will go to Bama. But I think if LSU offers 25 kids in state of LA, they are getting 17-20 no matter what. If Ohio State offers 13 kids in ohio they are getting maybe even a higher percentage... 11-12 of them. Coaching changes/down years, etc....and things like that only seem to effect those schools/slightly. I think florida kids are probably towards the bottom of loyalty to the hometown team...Sure it still exists with many, just saying-- not like those areas.

It just seems that way here since there are three big state schools. The other two have had more recent success in these kids lifetimes than we have. Last year opened their eyes, before we had who we had at coach.

Yup obv success, and competition with other in state/border state programs means a lot too...But I will still disagree, at least in the aspect that Florida kids are more apt to leave or MAYBE are just more sensitive to down years/coaching changes, etc.

And this is even while admitting Fla and specifically sofla has more kids so no matter what some will get a way, because that does play a part...Just saying, even when adjusted for that...I don't see the same sense of loyalty that you do in Ohio/Lousiana in Florida or really anywhere, Texas kids, GA, NJ, DMV kids leave town a lot too.

You don't have to like it, but those are facts that are undeniable. I personally don't care, but hiding your head in the sand doesn't make something false.

Those aren’t the facts. Georgia has never receruited like they have the last 2-3 years. Smart is a good recruiter but not that good. You mean to tell me Coley is all of the sudden a phenomenal recruiter? Sounds like you’re the one with your head in sand.

So what is your bone of contention?

Is football not basically a religion in Georgia?

Does Georgia not produce a ton of talent?

Okay, they never had the too class under Richt. They however were a top 10 class all but two years since 2001. They always recruited well in paper.

FSU used to get a lot of players from that state and that's no longer the case. Believe the hype or not, Smart has that place buzzing.

Yet they are losing a ton of talent in this class already. Uga will always lose in state talent no matter who the coach is. They have Tennessee, auburn, FSU, Alabama, clemson all within a 4 hour distance from metro Atlanta.

Get off your knees already. The “buzz” is coming from bags. Smart got real lucky Auburn defeated Bama. Otherwise, Bama wins the $EC and Georgia misses the playoffs.

So what was the buzz when they averaged the 6th best class yearly under Saint Richt?

You guys and it's only the bags ****, so tiresome. They did recruiting well under Richt, but were squeaky clean, right?

You do know there is some luck involved in college football. OU was mighty lucky in 2000 they get to play FSU instead of us in our stadium.

You can only play the games on the schedule. We wouldn't be complaining about it.

Knees please, you're the one on your knees with the simple mind who can't talk openly about college football. They made the game, didn't finish it off, but you're a total dumbass if you don't think that adds to their marketability with recruits.

Thanks for the geography lesson Brock.

Nobody ever said anyone would get all the talent around them and in fact nobody ever has. They're doing a good job though of getting a lot of it.

You simpletons with your bags can't have it any other way. **** lets you sleep at night I guess.

He learned from the best, Saban, and you don't think he took some knowledge with him? He most certainly used that angle, saying things probably like when I was at Alabama, etc. For better or worse, he has some selling points. Now he can say he took them further than Richt.

It is what it is and its a hot program right now.

They did last cycle but not this one
2nd season with richt 13-1
2nd season with smart 13-2
Uga has the same amount of losses that Miami has had in the last 2 years. Look how easy of a schedule they played and like someone else said if they played bama in the sec championship they wouldn’t have went to the playoffs either

He is there to see L$U, you know the team he has been committed to for over a year.

No real chance to land this kid.

It's the SEC... LSU drops bags as well... they are more selective with who they target though... they just don't have the same resources as Bama or UGA

LSU is going to be looking for a new coach after week 9. There is an opportunity
