5-star OG Thomas impressing at Opening Finals, will officially visit UM

Go ahead and add Lucas in there as well. But if we could get them all to official visit at the same time along with a Trey Sanders. Then bring Michael Johnson Jr back down along with Payton and Hasslewood on a visit. Let them see what they could look like out there together. That would definitely be a top 5 class. We really have to make some strides this class though because we were behind in terms of depth with a lot of teams and this class here will be one of the most important. With the addition of these new coaches at programs we face on the trail that are biting and scratching to snag recruits knowing that if they allow us to get another great class that could be it for them as well.
Top 5 class for us is almost out of reach but we dont need it. If we hit our top targets this will be a good class. With our location its hard to get top 5 classes unless talent in south florida is top 5 worthy. We havent ever needed that to win.

Bro no lucas!!! With that haul we wouldnt need him hes trollin man i wish people would stop with the Lucas talk!!

Reality check. Thomas will be a very tough pull. Sounds like he is very committed to LSU and actively recruiting for them.

"Kardell Thomas and the LSUcommitments are recruiting just about every prospect at The Opening.
And the Southern Lab offensive lineman thinks he's got a big-time prospect ready to join the Tigers' 2019 class.

"I got some information," a smiling Thomas told media members after the lineman workout. "I don't know if I want to put it out there but just know this ... WE are getting a well-known quarterback who's got a well-known brother.
"The quarterback I can't name, LSU, they want him bad. And he's ready to COME as soon as they get that green light."

Another QB for LSU's 2019 class? Kardell Thomas sure thinks so

Elite, HIGHLY recruited kids from Louisiana almost never come here. Seems like these sirens pop up every year. Don’t listen, stay on course.

Need to stay the course on John emery rb from Louisiana, he’s not going to LSU and he’s 6’0 195 and just ran a 4.4 at the opening/
Seems like he has a personal relationship with ed reed and you know ed is all about the canes. He had mentioned he might go to paradise camp on the 28 or uga so hopefully he shows up. I’m sure ed will probably be at paradise camp.

Great find Brock!.....This is what I like to see! I doubt Ed presses him to come to the U but I'm sure Ed will leave a great impression about how great The U is.

This is the RB I want in this class!

Yes. This is the kid that in 3 years wherever he is you are talking 1st day pick. I’d rather have him in the class than Sanders (this is pipe dream choices in case you’re wondering why I didn’t say Kenny)

A 1-2 punch of Lingard and Emery would be ridiculous. It would be toooooo much speed with a perfect blend of two different running styles.

Need Brown to stay on him.

Bingo. As entertaining as the composite is, being ranked 5th is not much different than being ranked 10th. Last year, the difference between #5 & #8 in the composite was 5 points. Recruiting rankings can be good indicators of top tier talent because those guys have been seen, evaluated & ranked by every scout in the country. But because they can't accurately grade or rank the Garvins & Rousseaus of the world (or Brevin Jordan's because of "length), it's impossible to say who really has the 5th best class anyway.
Besides, with everyone we got last class, this class looks like its all about plugging the remaining holes.

If the Canes win this season a top 5 class is definitely possible. There are going to be a bunch of teams that underperform and we will see if they can hold on to all of their recruits. Many of the recruits are bandwagon riders! Look at all the players that jumped on UGA tip after last season.

Talk about being in denial. In 2017, Georgia ranked 6th in recruiting and went 8-5. It’s bags, bro.

These Louisiana kids, nope, not going to fall for it. Perhaps he'll be the exception, bit I wouldn't bet on it.

Disaster is relative. I'd say that even if they go 8-5, fire coach O, they will still keep their top rated in state kids. Maybe someone like Bama might poach one but for the most part, even crappy seasons don't affect their in state recruiting TOO much

Yup, exactly.

It's amazing how many people follow recruiting, but forget the biggest recruiting factor of all. Proximity to the school most recruits eventually choose.

Posters get all caught up in the outliers, the ones who go far from home. When given an opportunity to play for the big in-state program, they typically go there. You can increase those chances of course and there will always be the exception to the rule, but it's a constant truth most stay close.
