CanesInSight caught up with one of the nation's top prospects in the class of 2028 ahead of his junior season. Standing at 5-foot-10, and 189-pounds, 2028 Cartersville (Ga.) Cartersville wide receiver Madoxx Davis spoke highly on the Miami Hurricanes, naming the 'Canes as one of the top schools pursuing him the hardest.
"The schools that have been recruiting me pretty consistently, other than Miami, are LSU, Florida, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Indiana, and Georgia, among a few others."
According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a five-star prospect. 247 is the only national media outlet to have him as a five-star product, while Rivals and ESPN have him as a four-star player. He is ranked as the No. 20 overall player, No. 5 wide receiver, and No. 3 player out of the Peach State.
Davis believes that he fits the Hurricanes' offensive scheme. He named the Hurricanes at the top of his recruiting list, and likes how Miami gets the ball into space: "Miami is definitely towards the top of my list," he added. "Their style of play fits me. They like to get the ball into space and let us work. That’s a large part of my game. There is no one that can tackle me one on one."
This past season with his Cartersville Purple Hurricanes, he recorded 36 receptions for 774 yards and six touchdowns. He clocks in at an official 4.42 40-yard dash while running a 1.61 10-yard split.
Davis informed CanesInSight that how college teams play this year will be a major part in his recruitment. He is currently working on a gameday schedule visit list. This past month, he was recently on campus for Legends Camp.
