You mean like stop going to games, cancel their season tickets, stop contributing, stop supporting the program and players, disappearing like that?

OH, but because they come on a message board to scream profanities and scream about firing people, that means they are still "gutting it out" right? That's what a REAL fan does? Why is it that when we win a game, you have the same cast of characters around. But when we LOSE a game, there are probably TWICE as many people on these boards. And this is NOT new, this goes back to the earliest days of UM boards in the mid to late 90s.

Im sorry, but b*tching about coaches and screaming profanities on a message board doesn't make you a fan. I sat through days at the OB watching us get our sh*t pushed in. I remember going to the Pitt game in 97, AT Pitt, when we lost. I remember the feeling of despondency when Clement just took a knee on the sideline and we just knew we were going to lose to a team we had dominated for years. The Pitt fans laughing and mocking us. Ive been there through the good and the bad in more than 30 years following this team. I don't have to like Golden, and I screamed to the high heavens that it was time to fire both Coker AND Shannon. But I never stopped going to games, never stopped rooting for our team, and never booed our players or spouted off about recruits being stupid to come to UM, etc...

Im not sure where some of you younger cats get the notion of what being a "fan" is, but its not any sort of definition I recognize. And that doesn't mean you have to just swallow failure and mediocrity, but you support your team. You support the kids to sweat and bleed for the team week in and week out on the field. For all those arrogant pricks in Gainesville, or Columbus, or Ann Arbor, or Lincoln, or South Bend that have always laughed at us and trashed us, looked down on scUM, and our worthless trashy "front runner" fans. Its sh8t like THAT that makes the rest of us look bad.

IDGAF about Golden, and if he fails, I **** well hope and expect him to be fired. But Im not going to turn my back on the team because I don't like the HC, or they aren't winning. That, TO ME, is the very ESSENCE of a "fair weather fan".

Been a fan since 79 when I was a young kid watching UM kick my dad's Nittany Lion's a$$es. Haven't been able to travel for some time now and miss it like crazy! In all those years I have pretty much heard and seen it all. A$$holes flying banners, making websites and sitting in the stands just waiting for a chance to boo only hurts our guys and our image as fans. You can't say you bleed Orange and Green if you are hoping and trying to make the Orange and Green bleed. Period!

You won't see an explanation because those against the banner are generally of very limited intellect. They just puppet dumb **** they heard some other nitwit say.

What hurts recruiting more? The vomit, pussified product on the field, or a group of fans who love the program and are trying to rescue it from the sweaty, greasy clutches of the worst HC in the land?

A lot of people have begun to realize that Golden is not the right fit for Miami. With that in mind, the sooner he gets fired, the better for us. We lose star recruits in the process? **** it. This is about the long-term health of our football program. Besides, the Louisville game was a prime example of what Golden can accomplish with star recruits. Would you rather prolong the rebuilding process with the right guy or watch as more games and recruits go into the *******?

UM fans have been relegated to rooting for recruiting because they know we don't stand a chance on the field. Meanwhile, teams like Duke, Louisville and Vag Tech are kicking our *** with guys we didn't even want. Recruiting with horrific corching gets you exactly what we've seen the last 7 games. Blow out losses.

great decision man.. Program finally gained momentum with recruits and the fan base and at the home opener you wanna embarrass the program in front of recruits. Yes we s#!T the bed on monday but its one loss. We still have 11 games to play. Im not saying we cant wanna fly planes over the stadium that says fire golden, Lets just wait and see if the season turns into a mess. The season just started.

Yeah? Is that why our best player gave up 2nd-3rd round money to come back and try develop more as a linebacker.. Why our tightend came back as well? Chickillo who you might not appreciate now but when he gets to the league and produces you're gonna be the main one saying how hes a great cane and should come back in the summer so the new recruits can be around the U family? You're crazy if you dont realize that talent is being developed here. Is it being maximized? No..but we have kids that will be getting drafted and playing on sundays..We didnt have much of that in the 2008-2014 classes.

He came back to WIN and potentially move up to first round moving, no thanks to the coaches watsoever. These kids are coming in with god given ability suffering thru these ******* idiots poor schemes & play calling THEN being put into situations to maximize abilty in the nfl. CANE4LIFE, thank you for a great post. I've been wondering all week why in god's name I spent so much money to go see the UM-NE game, and you have reminded me. It is indeed great to be a Miami Hurricane, even if the road back to the NC seems to go on forever.

I'm not sure if you are ranting at me or agreeing with me. I was just stating the clear lines between types of fans. Me being mopey and *****ing doesn't put me into the fair-weather category like some have tried to claim. I wear my colors, watch the games, and go to several when I can. But living in Atlanta it is a little more costly for me to invest money and time (particularly with very young children who I would leave with the wife) to travel to a game and watch an inferior product.

I'll always hope for a win and a good season, but that doesn't mean I need to lie to myself at the capability of the team. If anything, the *****ing shows I at least care. Those that don't really care don't say anything.
