One unemotional loss and you're ready to throw in the towel with some defaming banner...Hope your mom's proud of you..

Guess how I know you haven't been a Cane fan for longer than one offseason?

Good call. He obviously doesn't realize that a ton of our "fair weather fans" will sh*t all over the team, players, program, etc.... when we are losing. **** I remember fans actually BOOING our players from the stands.

Flying Banners calling for coaches to be fired has been a tradition at UM since Butch's 1997 season.

Fair weather fans disappear into the bushes like Homer Simpson when **** goes bad.
Bandwagon fans jump on the flavor of the month.

Real fans that dont lie to themselves stick around to ***** and complain when **** goes bad.

The ultimate troll would be him flying a banner supporting Golden and staff. I think this place would explode.

You mean like stop going to games, cancel their season tickets, stop contributing, stop supporting the program and players, disappearing like that?

OH, but because they come on a message board to scream profanities and scream about firing people, that means they are still "gutting it out" right? That's what a REAL fan does? Why is it that when we win a game, you have the same cast of characters around. But when we LOSE a game, there are probably TWICE as many people on these boards. And this is NOT new, this goes back to the earliest days of UM boards in the mid to late 90s.

Im sorry, but b*tching about coaches and screaming profanities on a message board doesn't make you a fan. I sat through days at the OB watching us get our sh*t pushed in. I remember going to the Pitt game in 97, AT Pitt, when we lost. I remember the feeling of despondency when Clement just took a knee on the sideline and we just knew we were going to lose to a team we had dominated for years. The Pitt fans laughing and mocking us. Ive been there through the good and the bad in more than 30 years following this team. I don't have to like Golden, and I screamed to the high heavens that it was time to fire both Coker AND Shannon. But I never stopped going to games, never stopped rooting for our team, and never booed our players or spouted off about recruits being stupid to come to UM, etc...

Im not sure where some of you younger cats get the notion of what being a "fan" is, but its not any sort of definition I recognize. And that doesn't mean you have to just swallow failure and mediocrity, but you support your team. You support the kids to sweat and bleed for the team week in and week out on the field. For all those arrogant pricks in Gainesville, or Columbus, or Ann Arbor, or Lincoln, or South Bend that have always laughed at us and trashed us, looked down on scUM, and our worthless trashy "front runner" fans. Its sh8t like THAT that makes the rest of us look bad.

IDGAF about Golden, and if he fails, I **** well hope and expect him to be fired. But Im not going to turn my back on the team because I don't like the HC, or they aren't winning. That, TO ME, is the very ESSENCE of a "fair weather fan".

CAPS puking all over the keyboard agai . Has anybody read one of his porsts in the last 3 years?

No we won't. Those of us who are there to support Duke, Stacy, Denzel and the other Canes players will get no joy, see no humor. But the FAMU fans and the national media will be giggling along with you.

You don't define me.

How about "Dumbasses never recognized a broke-dik operation, even when they see it."

RIGHT.. because there were SO many people here defending Coker at the end right? Or there what? 2 or 3 people still making excuses for Shannon in the end?

When its time to go, its time to go. But we are 1 game into the season, and he's not going after game 2. Seriously, some of you need to use a little f*cking common sense.

I agree with this 100%. I still by blind fandom have hope that Golden will succeed. I am getting closer and closer to not giving a **** about him though because he hasn't put the product we all know we can have on the field yet. I know he is trying his heart out but it's hard to stomach this below mediocre style of play. I will watch every game and live and die with the results every Saturday. I desperately want that game to be a wake up call as opposed to this is our team game. I have hard time believing we will look like that again this season. We got thumped now let's move on and Learn. If we get drubbed by Nebraska, I'm talking losing by 13+ then I'll will be in full meltdown mode. Until then I believe we have the talent to win at a high level. Golden hasn't shown he can but let's let the next 4-5 games play out and recalculate.
