The more film I watch of this dude to me he is the better prospect over DJ IMO, I am starting to lean that way. The ability to just shove dudes off him with simple shoulder leverage is Bain ****. Where as DJ looks explosive asf but I can see him getting stood up on bullrush's. This dude is a beast ngl.
alot of people feel this way. Only thing seems to be that DJ likes the attention more of recruiting. I'd take both of them if im being honest. I think both have alot of talent.

However if he is like Bain be can play the run too . Jacob’s looks like a pass rusher only . I’ll take Bryant way to many just pass rushers

Are we looking at the same film? I like Bryant, he is great, we would be lucky to get him and if we get him instead of Jacobs while not what I would prefer its still a major win. That said, Jacobs is more than just a speed pass rusher. This kid is built like a prototypical edge and can set the edge.

I agree Jacob’s probably got a higher ceiling but that knock back strength is something you cannot teach and it ages well. Speed rushers lose some of their speed and they can be neutralized.

With the way the league seems to be going back to big boy running the ball in 12 personnel, a good run supporting de with the ability to collapse the pocket on third and long will be valuable.

JT just needs to show him the Bain tape. If Bain had average size arm length and an inch taller he’d be a top five pick.

The best have both. Also, in general elite athletic traits are things you cant teeach. Just as you cant teach natural strength, you cant really teach a quick twitch first step or speed.

My point is that Jacobs has both, he overwhelms the OL and then closes with speed. His tape shows him in run support.

To your other point, the league has made adjustments recently to big boy running the ball but the modern game is still primarily a passing league where they pay you to get to the QB.

Ill be happy af if we land Bryant though. Both have the ceiling to be All Conference to All American talents but if Im picking one, Im picking Jacobs.

I Hope Please GIF

@edcanes , can you please add the 2027 thread prefix to the OP thread title so it can be included when sorting for 2027 recruits?

When asked where his commitment with LSU stands, Bryant remained vague.

“It’s still strong,” Bryant said. “But I haven’t signed any papers. Anything can happen.”

....

“It’s really just Miami and LSU in this race,” Bryant said. “Nobody else is really in this race anymore. It’s really just Miami and LSU… Miami shows me love as if I am committed and as if I am a player on this team.”

"I'm still tight with LSU. They're still my No. 1. I'm going to take my visits since I'm not signing anything. It could happen. I'm not saying it will happen [flipping], but it could," Bryant said.

Being faster and more explosive at DE dont make you better just saying, Stewart I was dying to land and Bain is what you want. Someone that can play both the run and pass. Those are the dominant ones at DE
Facts! Bryant is the more complete player, in my opinion. With D.J. there is great potential, but with Bryant we would get another on-the-field menace in the Bain/Mesidor style.

He good yall. He with us!

Seems like he's playing the game to drive up the bag but I won't doubt Mario too much. Hope we can pull this out but I know social media Lane probably will do everything possible to not lose to Mario considering his obsession with all things Miami.
