5-2

Before the season began, I told myself that 9-3 would be a good season, then that GT game happened & made me highly skeptical that they would only lose 3 games. I figured they could lose to UNC, FSU, and Clemson. Winning this game kind of evens it out.

Some people will look at our record being 5-2 and see the GTech loss and say no matter what it's garbage. I'll look at it and say next year if we can clean up most of the absolutely boneheaded mistakes, we can be a VERY good team next year..... If we land a good QB.
Still gonna have the same HC next year. I'm with you in that I hope we can clean stuff up. But he's been a HC for almost a decade & this is what he is. All I can say is we'll see.

He was handcuffed something awful in the first half.

Of course he had jitters but Dawson didn’t help him at all. Everything was tight and the response to a mistake or hint of a mistake was for Dawson/Mario to turtle.

Until they needed him to save the game in the 4th. When he delivered like a young Dorsey.
He was handuffed. Probably for his own benefit. What if we let him sling it immediately and he throws 2 picks right away and we are completley out of the game from the jump. All we asked him to do early was throw screens. And any pass that wasn't a screen he had batted down easily. No matter how you slice it at best he was average in the first half. It's fine. We should have been leading by 2 at half. Second half it started the same but then in the 4th he really stepped up. Had one extremely impressive drive to get the TD. But imo he also was very responsible for the end of game clock management issue. I'm very confident that if TVD were in we'd have performed far better to try for the game winning FG. And thats fine too cause hes a true frosh qb making his first start.

Overall I liked what I saw. But in no way do I HOPE we have to rely on him next year. It would be far more preferable to land a top 1yr transfer QB next year, and then Emory Stepped up in 25. But like I said if Emory steps up to end this year (in practice, he's not starting over TVD) and in offseason... I'll be happy. Of course we'd still need a transfer QB to at least be his backup. Can't imagine Jacurri would stick around.

Team still needs to show that it can handle following up success with more success...we have a history of loving trap games

it’s like some kind of drug at this point

Ps: shout out #11

I honestly wasn’t expecting 6-1 at this point of the szn..GT definitely stings..but I did go into this szn wanting to see how we match up physically on the LOS VS the likes of Clem, ATM, FSU (I’d include UNC) as well..I do see improvement..that’s all I wanted Too see this szn tbh

If we land a good QB?????

Like a true freshman who was handcuffed until the 4th quarter and then lead a 10 point 4th quarter comeback and double overtime win? Like that kind of QB?

Good lord these takes!
We do not have elite QB on this team. Stop it.

8-4 likely, 9-3 on the table still.

trending up. GT game probably the road block to a 10 win regular season but progress none the less

I'm counting GT as a win because we actually won. We are 6-1 because we won. Period. We Beat GT, Don Chaney didn't fumble.
