If it's a 10 point game, a TD makes it three scores. If it's a 24 point game a TD or FG makes it a 4 score game. This is simple math.

2. 31 points v. 27 points is much of a difference. 4 scores either way.

3. Since it is 4 scores either way, I am going with the better opportunity to score given the situation. With a lead of 27 points to start the 4th quarter, the game is over.

4. The question on whether I'm worried about VT scoring three times is irrelevant because the situation I present doesn't occur without a missed attempt for the TD. I'm not worried about VT at all once the score was 17-0. They're terrible. Oh but wait our defense has been a coat hanger abortion for the last 3+ years. So I'm taking the better chance to score.

5. Missing the TD keeps it at a 3 score game.

It was a statement call. Edwards ran hard last night and we converted several times on third and short with him carrying the rock. No issue because we played the field position game. They go 3 and out. Next series we pin them at the 6 and they have to punt again. We score on the next series. They weren't going to drive 90+ yards and even if they did with a quarter to go it would have taken forever.

If Kaaya had the ability to audible that would have been a good time.

Even if you don't convert(Which we didn't) you force VT's terrible *** offense to drive the whole length of the field. If they couldn't stop our offense at that point in the game then why settle for 3?

Its not "kicking field goals from the two" that is the problem. Its Goldens total lack of situational awareness and simple mathematics.

Also, our D is historically bad vs bad teams. Virginia Tech went nuts on us last year and they sucked. Cincinatti went for 500. Arkansas st 330. ****, even Danny O'Brien looked like Joe Montana against us before getting benched two games later. Its not unreasonable to think VT couldve flipped it on at anytime during that game based on how bad our defense was and is.
