no problem going for it. you're up 24-0 and you dont get it? who cares. they arent going 99 yards. not with that offense. pretty sure they quickly went 3 and out.
 
play-call wasnt the issue. right side didnt block the end. wouldve been a easy 6. plus they couldnt stop the run so why not jam it down their throat
 
not so much the play call but Gus is a horrible RB and short yardage in particular

so, wrong personnel
 
It all fits in Foldens M.O. of actively trying to lose. Why take an easy 3 to ice the game when you can run a short yardage play to Gus that you've run in every game this season for short yardage, and hasnt worked yet?

He probably fancies himself a "players coach". In reality hes just a bafoon absorbing a monster paycheck.
 
Stupid decision they shouldve kicked the FG. That and having Duke playing late in the game are my two complaints from the game coaching wise.

Weak. Try better in the future.

Gus ran 20 for 115 and 2 TDs, including one from 3 yards out through the line.
 
Glad we went for it. I go for the aggressive move there up 24. There is always second guessing when you don't get the TD.

Many of us said so at the time. Before the play was called. Not second guessing at that point.

Gus had a good game.

3rd or 4th and short to Gus off tackle hardly ever works. Same play, same result.

Lets not start acting like we havent been bottom 10 in 3rd down efficiency all year before this game

That was his 4th straight running play.
 
After 13 years of complaining that our coaches don't put their foot on the opponent's throat, we have people saying that they wish we had kicked a field goal in an absolute blowout instead of allowing our players to seal it with a touchdown.

It was his 4th straight play. Before the game he was terrible in short yardage or any situation. Now he is running on his 4th straight play. It was a terrible call (the play itself) and we should have kicked to have a better chance of making it 4 scores.
 
Somebody screwed up on the play. Isidora pulls to the left, Gus goes right. Love the call though.

I didn't start the thread. That argument only points out that it is still a 4 score game regardless, so it isn't a VALID argument to go for the TD.

"Putting our foot on our opponents throat" would've been kicking the fg. It's still the same complaint.

Who said you started the thread? Try to keep up here.

A touchdown sends everyone home for the night. Only you ladies who would be coaching in panties would nervously kick the field goal in that situation.

You never answered.....you were worried about VT scoring three times, starting from the 1?
