4th and 9

Without foresight what would you guys do if you were Manny and Enos in that predicament?

And even if Baxa missed the FG on 4th and 9 you’re still only down 4 with 4:35 to play with 2 TO’s.

Let the D get a stop and you’d need 7 to win. But I think you take the FG there, cut it to 1, lean on the D to get a stop and now we only need a FG to win instead of 7

This is the only answer. It was a mistake and the incorrect decision, plain and simple.

I don't think there was a wrong decision there. If he tried the field goal it would have been acceptable. Going for it was fine too.

I do find it telling that he didn't have faith in Baxa though.

If we’re being honest Felipe Franks bailed us out with his INT on the next play. But he’s *** and Mullen is a dope so that can be expected. We won’t lucky with Another P5 coach/QB next time, they’ll be running the clock out

That was a rookie mistake on Mannys end. In a situation like this, you put your faith in the kicker and hope he delivers, can’t imagine what that did to Bubbas confidence.

Bubba has the leg, I’m not sure on the confidence, regardless I don’t think the 4th and 9 would’ve been that far

Bubba was 1 for three with a long of 47 last year.I believe we were on the 32 which would have made it a 49 yd FG...

Honestly I was ok with going for it because I didn't think we would get the ball back. But UF went and threw a pick on their first play lol And we still **** the bed again after that. So many blown opportunities in that 4th quarter.

If we somehow got a stop, we weren't getting down the field again.
After the interception we ran like 8 plays and moved backwards.

Regardless outcome would’ve been the same if we didn’t convert the 4th down (which we didn’t) I say put 3, play D and at least give us a fighters chance.

We still had a fighters chance and al we did was go backwards. Their dumb *** DBs are the reason we even got close

everyone is focusing on the 4th and 9 but our chances of winning were pretty slim at that point either way.

the real mistake manny made was kicking the FG on the first drive from 4th and 2 on the 14 when we were moving the ball and looked in rhythm working off a script. i have to imagine manny regretted that pretty immediately after seeing how aggressively mullen coached the first quarter.
