I’m still scratching my head as to why Manny went for it on 4th and 9 but I understand if the coaches began losing confidence with Buba especially after that missed 26 yarder. But it’s 4th and 9 & you’re on your opponents 30 with 4:35 left. Smart situational football says you take the 3 and rely on your defense who has been playing outstanding up until then.

Regardless outcome would’ve been the same if we didn’t convert the 4th down (which we didn’t) I say put 3, play D and at least give us a fighters chance.

I can see why coaches momentarily loss confidence in him but regardless you have to factor in not converting the 4th down anyways, at least a FG would’ve put up some points.

Cut it to 1 point and lean on the D to get a stop. I think they would have and there was plenty of time left.

Understandable, at that point the game would be a loss solely on Buba, but if he makes it then we’re potentially talking about a different outcome. I can live with that risk.

100 times out of 100 you kick. Yes, he missed a chip shot. But he made 2 previously and has plenty of leg to make one from 47. The success percentage on a 4th and 9 is very low.

But then realistically how much time do we have left , with our terrible OL , to go the length of the field after getting that stop ? Find it hard to believe we don’t at some point face a 4th and long at some point on that drive anyways . Then hoping Baxa can make the game winner . All that , versus converting just one fourth down play....I’m going

I agree , but you saw the last drive . It’s a high probability we would have had to end up converting a 4th and long at some point on a potential game winning drive anyways

And even if Baxa missed the FG on 4th and 9 you’re still only down 4 with 4:35 to play with 2 TO’s.

Let the D get a stop and you’d need 7 to win. But I think you take the FG there, cut it to 1, lean on the D to get a stop and now we only need a FG to win instead of 7
