47- 0 1997 Florida State Miami Game

The 1997 loss to F$U is a repressed memory for me. I started watching Miami football as a kid back in 1991 and can recall virtually every game with vivid detail since then.

But I have zero recollection of the 1997 F$U game and would prefer to keep it that way.

I was there and do not remember...before I could drink also haha.

This game Florida State beat the living **** out of us when we were down. I want the same result October 6 but with us winning. I dont want any sympathy shown PERIOD!
Their offense line is the worst in the power 5.... I cant wait my boys **** em

Jesus, I remember this game. Painful memories like being traumatized after witnessing a beheading. That Pell Grant scandal severely hurt our program. Only good thing was that Butch was able to turn it around quickly so the program didn't bleed too long.

Bad time in our program's history for sure.

Richt, FSU is the anti-Christ and they are coming for our souls. They are horrible, terrible, vile heathens who must be purged at all cost. We must do humankind a favor and abolish the Earth of these evildoers. Only way that can be accomplished is if we win by 50 points. It's the only way Richt and it must be done. Amen.

Knowles will start

Unfortunately, I wasn't in the stadium for it. I had been in UM-FSU games before that, like '92, but watched that one at a watch party. You could feel the OB blow up through the TV. The watch party went nuts. What an experience. I can only imagine it sounded more impressive than Mcgahee's screen in '02, the "Vick sucks d*ck" game in '00, or Hester's punt return against Louisville in '04 (still am thankful but dont understand why they'd punt it to him).

Easily Loudest "Moment" I've ever heard....Notre Dame 1989 was loudest for entire game...but the second Jones crossed the GL....Complete MADNESS...Like an explosion went off.

The CJ INT was the type of loud where you feel pressure in your ear. Hester's opening return against UFag was equally loud for me. I gotta tell you, people want to down play it, but the Bandy Pick 6 was up there.

I was in the WEZ and it looked like a war zone. People fainting and whatnot. They ran out of lemon icees, which were being used for hydration. Crazy scene. Was like 183 degeees out there. Amazing.

Think that was my sophomore year at FSU, wore all Miami gear..nobody said **** to me I was so drunk and ****ed off 1 cent beer

In 94, I was 12 years old, sitting in the WEZ and that TD happened in front of me. I couldn’t hear myself think! I remember it like it was yesterday. Pure insanity. Loudest game I have ever been to until this day.

That '97 rout was obvious for months. Florida State opened -14 in the summer "Marquee Matchup" numbers at Caesar's Palace. I told my friends it was too low so we hit it up, giving -14 and -15. Then Imperial Palace with Jay Kornegay and Ed Salmons put up a more reasonable number...-19.

Those were the only two joints sticking up the early numbers on many college games at that point.

By the week of the game it was -20 on open then hit up as high as -24 briefly. Most spots came back to -23 and some as far as -22.

Canes 2018 have no chance to that type of damage to Florida State. We were so far down in 1997 there was a clear talent gap and our young guys weren't ready. Florida State is out of sync with a new coach but the overall roster levels are still very similar, as indicated by the recruiting ratings of late.

I'll be happy with any victory. They can easily show up and scare just like at Clemson last year, when many dunces were forecasting an avalanche.

Is it any coincidence that I watched that humiliation, that disaster, at a sports bar in a now demolished Holiday Inn in Bethesda Maryland?

Is there a deeper meaning, a hidden message?

......but talk about getting yanked outta the Ashes....Lots of High Quality development went on at UM from 97-2000....I'm talking Historical....

We're the ones that sent Jimbo on his way out of Tally and caused their season to spiral out of control (don't care that Bama knocked out Francois week 1 last year).

I want us to be the ones that put a death knell into that program. I want more than blood, I want that cot **** soul of theirs.
Never happen...state school football programs never die...though they do rot and stink like decaying fish for considerable periods, but they are not dead. Maybe dead tissue, gangrenous, rotting flesh that makes you choke and gag with dry heaves, until you finally do bring up some of last night's taco...but they are never dead. Even Tulane came back, SMU came back, (private schools) though they are just shadows of their former selves...

FSU will somehow arise from the ashes and pools of bilious fluid, the remains of the now totally decayed flesh....they will come back, and the Florida taxpayers and few remaining corporations (if Gillums is elected) will foot the bill.

our guy dont believe in revenge, not right in the eye's of the lord, now if we had Jimmy it would be, well you know how it would be, he holds a grudge forever, Texas thing he cant help it
