A lot of that was Van Dyke checking down because the deep routes were not open. They were blanketing us all game. I was there. Nobody was open outside the short check downs and they had the team speed on defense to get to the ball on those plays

Madden 03 route concepts didn’t help much either. While playing inside the hashes too much. The OL played well for the most part.

It seems like they played a good amount of man . Sadly we just don’t have the receivers with the speed or route running ability to create separation that far downfield . Last year TVD had the confidence in Rambo to throw that up for a big play. This year no one’s proven they can come down with anything

Our fastest receivers in the two Smiths were getting run down or going step for step with a few of their LBs smh
