Ruiz helps us with 2 and 3, No other reason any top flight comes here.

Mario has to do a deep assessment of what type of offense and defense he wants to run. Typically, his offenses regardless of coordinators ( Ponce, Arroyo, Morehead) tend to be way too conservative and not reflective of current cfb. This ground and pound crap is not sustainable any longer. Even Ohio St, Bama, Georgia, are physical but have mobile qb’s and great wrs. I understand he inherited a crap show, but this offense was inarguably better under Lashlee last yr. Gattis is incapable of scheming anyone open.

Defensively, we simply suck on back 7, and can’t scheme our way from our shortcomings. Can’t tackle and can’t cover. We said the same things under Manny, and nothing has improved. At some point we have to blame the player. Blake Baker was run out of town and he is doing a great job at Mizzou, at some point we have to look to these players as being just not very good or have the “want” to be good.

Lastly, these coaches yell at the players more in one day at practice than the entire staff yelled at them all year last year. They simply don’t respond to yelling nor coddling. Just a really bad blend of upper class men who have never won squat, and still think they are in college. This is a 2-3 yr reboot.

I agree, but right now, no other way to get kids to want to be part of this fiasco. Unfortunately, this is today’s CFB

Need more than “some” coach firings. Most of the staff NEEDS to be gone. For example, firing Gattis but keeping Steele and Addae would leave us in a situation where at least one side of the ball is severely underperforming a couple years into Mario’s tenure, even if he got the offensive hires right this time.

So after more frustrating losses next year, we’ll be talking about having to make more changes a year from now and we’ll still be fielding a disappointing product as a result.

Gattis, Steele, Ponce, Stephen Field, Smith, Addae, Strong, and Aaron Feld all need to be let go. I wouldn’t even be sad to see the line coaches tossed , but the first 6 are the most critical.

I think we can hit all 4 of these

1 Hire AD first
2. Hire coach, after coaching search
3. Coach hires coordinators
4 Coordinators/coach hire staff

Now you have unity and the right people have authority to exercise control when things go off the rails.
