Jai Lucas and the Miami Hurricanes basketball coaching staff received positive news on the recruiting trail as one of the nation's best 2027 shooting guards trimmed his list.
On Saturday morning, four-star Justin Wise, who is listed at 6-foot-4, and 175-pounds narrowed down his decision list to just six schools with the Hurricanes listed. He also named Texas, Georgia, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Clemson.
Wise visited Athens in February and Texas in September. He currently doesn't have a visit set up with the Hurricanes. According to the On3 Prediction Machine, the home-state Georgia Bulldogs currently holds an advantage in his recruitment. He is in the Bulldogs backyard as North Oconee High School is 12-miles away from their campus.
Wise skyrocketed this summer in the rankings as he was upgraded to a high blue-chip prospect. According to the 247Sports Recruiting Composite Rankings, he ranks as the No. 54 overall player, No. 4 shooting guard, and No. 7 player out of the Peach State.
He represents Jet Academy in the AAU EYBL circuit. He has been putting up decent numbers for his team, averaging a total of 11.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, while shooting 36% from behind the arc.
