4-star OT Neal on UM: "It's almost one of those perfect fits to be honest"

I think you could make an argument he is the best player in America for this cycle.
Think 247 mad at me lol. I've been arguing that all day.

There are 4 defensive ends in 247's Top 15 players with 3 of them in the Top 5 andddddd Evan Neal dominated every single one of them. Seems like a no brainer to me...

Admittedly, the "They're making things hard on me" comment sounded kind of ominous to me, until I read:

"But there’s still time for other schools, I still have to see what’s up.”

That, to me, sounds like a kid leaning to us yet saying there's still time for other schools to change his mind. Overall, a very positive, encouraging interview for us..
I think he’ll be a Cane but these quotes ESPECIALLY the second one is pure bags based. He is a Cane so he shouldn’t play with entertaining/hearing the offers, because he might hear one he feels he can’t refuse. He playing with fire, just commit and shut it down kid.

Read the 247 article from Ivins yesterday about Neal, don’t worry too much about that. His mom Is all the way a cane...

Sometimes people hit the wrong icon when scrolling on a phone. I know it’s happened to me.

Didn't have this issue with Tapatalk. Any chance we could get Tapatalk back? The mobile experience just isn't the same.

We have all these kids that we believe will be Canes either cause they're Legacies or local kids that are fans; but none of them are pulling a Lingawd and committing early to recruit the rest of the class. I believe that it may hurt us long term. I don't know if it's because they are lining their pockets doing visits; but one of these studs has to commit, shut down their recruiting and be the Ambassador. Wish it were one of the local kids like Stevenson or Bogle; but I think it would start a Dominoe effect. Maybe one or two will do it at Paradise; but that's almost a month away.
I'd think that MJJ would want to commit and try to help get Ladson back, or possibly get Haselwood and Zip to join him to help his case in a couple of years.

I have a feeling he is a silent and is being saved to get some momentum before Paradise or the season. I mean he really has not visited anywhere lately and has not shown more interest in doing so at all and seems to be locked in and commnicating with our coaches a tremendous amount. This performace today is only going to make it harder though.

Every recruitment is different and it’s not ever going to be same(like lingard) that everyone wants. Got to win battles regardless the duration of it

If we don’t get at least one of these top guys to commit during paradise or like very shortly after I don’t like our chances with them. It would also suck not to have any momentum after our our premier event. I’m not expecting some avalanche of commitments but having one of either Neal, Rique, or MJJ (if he’s not a silent to NAMBLA state) would b yuuugge.

Ok cool, I’m with U. I just believe that Neal wants to know just how much he is worth before he signs with us in December. I’m not worried but I’m almost positive that his last comment confirms this desire.

"They're making the decision hard on me"

That sounds like someone committed or heavily leaning somewhere else. That's a strange thing to say for someone who's supposed to be leaning our way.
More like "They're making it hard for me not to choose them". Well at least that's what I surmise when you read it in context with the other things he stated.

That's exactly what stood out to me the most and I have the same questions.

I'm not trying to be negative as it's an incredibly positive piece but if we are such a perfect fit and the visit was amazing in addition to stating that Richt is showing the most attention then why would he say that we are making a decision difficult for him?

Now it is possible that what he meant was that he thinks so highly of Miami that it would be extremely difficult to say no to us which most likely what I'm going with.

This is the way I read that quote after reading the interview in it's entirety. I believe he's saying:

"They're making it hard for me not to pull the trigger for them and remain uncommitted."

I’m 50/50 on this. Says all the right things and sounds like he wants to commit but still waiting on other schools?
Depends on how you view it, it could be waiting on other schools to drive up the “value” or simply waiting on other schools to show him something different because his mind is already committed here, These kids only get a chance to go through this recruiting process once in their lifetime, he’s probably fielding all offers to narrow down the best choice for him, and so far it looks like it’s Miami, I don’t blame him for waiting on other schools, at the end I want Neal to sign his commitment to being a cane with 100% certainty, no regrets whatsoever
