Ahead of the 2026-27 high school football season, MaxPreps released their top-10 linebacker rankings, naming Miami Hurricanes commit AJ Randle as the nation's No. 7 linebacker.
Randle was ranked behind (No. 1) Kaden Henderson, (No. 2) Tahj Fray, (No. 3) Brayton Feister, (No. 4) Isaac McNeil, (No. 5) Quinton Cypher, and (No. 6) Gabriel Player.
According to 247Sports, Randle skyrocketed in their rankings, moving up 92 spots and being placed as the nation's No. 2 linebacker in the composite rankings. He also ranks as the No. 54 overall player and No. 3 out of North Carolina.
Randle does it all on the field, playing quarterback, running back, and linebacker. At 6-foot-3, and 210-pounds, he brings a big presence in the middle of the defense, combined with his speed and athleticism as a linebacker.
He hails from Garner High School in Garner (Nc.), where he recorded 84 tackles, six tackles for loss, three forced fumbles, and one interception during his junior season.
As Randle continues to rise in the rankings and gain recognition, the Hurricanes coaching staff can safely say that they have a steady addition to the 2027 recruiting class.
