4-star CB Markevious Brown close to cutting list, talks UM

Does anyone know if Ivins mentioned him in the recruiting update he just posted?
“Bradenton IMG Academy four-star cornerback Markevious Brown has yet to really name a firm timeline for when he plans to make a commitment. Brown remains the primary target at corner for Miami, but I was able to confirm last week that the Hurricanes are also telling Tallahassee John Paul II Top247 safety Terrion Arnold that he could play cornerback for them. Arnold has Miami on his short list of favorites, but he has never been to Coral Gables before and the latest intel suggests that both Florida and Georgia are out in front. One other name I have heard tossed around as a potential target at cornerback is TRU Prep Academy's Ricardo Hallman. The three-star is currently committed to Wisconsin.”

Nothing really

Sounds like Rumph-ish style recruiting. Going after a Tallahassee Safety to play CB instead of putting the heat on Brown and Hallman

But can he play CB? Legitimate question
Absolutely he can, he actually originally played CB his Soph/Junior year before he moved to Safety. He has terrific size & is a quick twitch athlete with good speed, he has freakish ability, kid is a really talented basketball player too & has very good ball skills.

But we have a very slim chance of actually getting him, he does have some interest in Miami, Banda has done a good job keeping in contact with him through the year & he liked the Ed Reed hire when it was first made, he was scheduled to come to Miami way back in March but it was literally a week before the Pandemic shutdown happened & he never was able to get down to campus.

He & Xavian Sorey are very close, he had said for a few months the 2 of them were going to play together in college, but kids say that all the time. But X Sorey is leaning towards Bama right now & Bama is recruiting them both together.

As of right now, he's a UF lean with both Bama & UGA pushing for him, FSU is still after him too, but he'll probably commit to UF when he makes his decision. Miami will more than likely be in his top 5, but the likelihood of us actually signing him is slim to none.

He's SEC bound.

I'd just like to point out that Auburn mods are already feeling less confident about McKinstry. Made a comment about it today. Again, I hope like **** Brown chooses us because he likes us and not because they have higher rated guys above him. That will not last.

A little over two weeks later and now Auburn mods are saying that they feel Lassiter is heading to uga. i never feel confident when a discussion about a recruit we're interested in focuses on us getting him because others don't have room.

From the outside looking in, seems like he'll go to Barn if they have room. We are the backup plan.
