4 Star CB Lavert Hill

The only thing that's similar to Tracy are his height and weight. This kid's known for his speed. He ran sub 11 100m and you can see he's explosive when jumps to get the ball at its highest point. Reminds me a bit of Dior Mathis (Oregon), another former highly recruited DB from Detroit. Both undersized, but physical and fast. Dior actually came to Randy Shannon's summer camp in 2008, where crime-dog was giving him more attention than any other DB. I saw him go against Charles Gaines (took reps at wr) and bunch of other SFL kids. Dior might have been a bit faster, but this kid looks more natural playing the ball.

It worked with Corn Elder

they are all still traumatized by Golden recruiting. actually i am too.lol

I doubt Corn committed after a last minute visit. Lavert is visiting the week before signing day, you know how hard it's going be to pitch someone with no prior interest with one week to go before he signs. Plus he's from Detroit and is interested in Michigan, I don't see why he wouldn't end up there.

Corn committed without even visiting, iirc. His recruitment was odd because he wasn't sure about which sport he would play. He had been a UM fan for whatever reason and committed on signing day when we told him he had a scholarship.

I thought it was after signing day, which surprised us even more

It was. Both him and Derrick Griffin inked after signing day. I think we offered both of them the opportunity to try and play both sports.

If I'm not mistaken corn committed after signing day. Along with Darrell Langham? Or some other receiver can't remember

And Larranaga told him he could play basketball.

Yep, Corn wanted to play basketball for a big school unless Miami offered him.
