Four-star class of 2028 running back Xander Edwards has already experienced the life in Coral Gables three times, most recently visiting last month. He told CanesInSight that he will be in attendance for the Hurricanes' game against the Seminoles on October 17th.
Mario Cristobal has made it known that Edwards is a top-priority target in the 2028 recruiting class. The Hurricanes currently don't have a running back commit in the cycle, with Miami competing against multiple top programs to land the 6-foot-1, 205-pound tailback.
According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is currently viewed as a four-star prospect. He ranks as the nation's No. 116 player overall, No. 7 running back, and No. 17 player out of the Sunshine State.
He represents The Bolles High School in Jacksonville, Florida, where this past season he led the Bulldogs to an overall record of 13-2 and 3-0 in district play. He recorded a total of 2,629 rushing yards on 265 attempts, while punching in 44 rushing touchdowns.
