Establishing in-state recruiting supremacy is a goal for Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff. The Hurricanes have done an incredible job pursuing top talent in Florida.
One of those prospects is currently being pursued by the Hurricanes in four-star Auburndale, (Fla.) Auburndale High School running back Anthony Howard Jr.
Howard recently told CanesInSight that he has released his top seven schools: Miami, Florida State, Florida, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Auburn, and Tennessee. NC State, Texas A&M, and UCF are other programs pursuing him, but he made it known that the Hurricanes stand very high in his recruitment.
"Miami stands very high in my recruitment," he added. "I ideally want to make a decision after the season around OV time next year."
Howard considers himself capable of fitting in the Miami offense by running the pro style scheme, and he likes how Miami lets their running backs play in the backfield.
"I feel like I would fit great in the Miami offense because they run a pro style offense and let their running backs play free," Howard said.
According to Howard, the culture and the way Hurricanes alumni are always on campus showing love are what make Miami different from others schools trying to recruit him.
"I would definitely say the culture, and how the alumni are always there, and just the energy Miami brings is great," said Howard.
According to the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a four-star product. Howard ranks as the No. 298 player nationally, No. 23 running back, and the No. 40 player out of the Sunshine State.
