I had a chance to talk to four-star 2028 defensive lineman Simon Nuamah out of the Bronx, New York.

Simon is a 6-foot-3, 250-pound defensive lineman, who was recently offered by the Miami Hurricanes coaching staff in March. After playing this past season for Brooks High School, where he led the team to a 4-4 record, he transferred to the Tabor Academy Seawolves, who posted an undefeated 9-0 record.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is currently viewed as a blue-chip four-star recruit. He ranks as the nation's No. 64 player, No. 7 defensive linemen, and No. 2 player out of New York.

He currently holds a total of 21 offers: Miami, Rutgers, Boston College, Duke, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Penn State, Tennessee, UCLA, Notre Dame, among others.

Which schools are going the hardest after you in your recruitment right now?

Simon: Notre Dame, Rutgers, Florida, and Miami.

Where does Miami currently stand in your recruitment?

Simon: Miami is a school I’m interested in. The great coaching staff and what they have been able to accomplish in the past are all factors that play a great role in this process.

How’s your relationship with Mario Cristobal and Jason Taylor?

Simon: My relationship with them is great and it is still a developing relationship. Recently they sent me a bunch of mail and I heard from a lot of coaches like Coach Cristobal and a lot of the defensive staff.

Do you plan on taking a visit to Miami?

Simon: I would love to visit Miami when that availability comes

Hard hitting stuff!

 

Meaning he’s old for his class or young? I’m confused.

Lot of kids reclass down a grade to gain an extra year of development/academics. He is still young for his grade. So he would go to college a year older though.
