Miami is currently in contention with one of the top cornerback targets in the 2028 recruiting class, who was recently on campus for the Hurricanes Legends Camp.
Four-star cornerback Jordan Hicks is a 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect out of Mission Viejo, California, where he plays high school football for the Mission Viejo Diablos. This past season, he recorded 62 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles, and five interceptions.
He currently holds over 31 offers from many Power-5 programs, including Miami, Auburn, Texas, North Carolina, and Alabama, among many others. He told CanesInSight that the Hurricanes are among his top schools currently pursuing him: Miami, Oregon, Alabama, and Oklahoma.
According to all three major recruiting websites (Rivals, ESPN, 247) he is currently viewed as a four-star prospect. 247Sports places him as the No. 200 player overall, No. 20 cornerback, and No. 15 player out of California. Last month, 247Sports analyst Blair Angulo put in a crystal-ball prediction for Oregon to land the blue-chip prospect.
Hicks is eyeing getting down to Coral Gables when the Miami Hurricanes play the Florida State Seminoles inside Hard Rock Stadium: "I’m shooting for the game vs. Florida State," stated Hicks.
He attends the same High School as Hurricanes freshman wide receiver Vance Spafford.
Hicks believes that he can be a great addition to the Hurricanes defensive scheme under Corey Hetherman: "I think l would be a great asset to defense, especially because of my versatility." said Hicks.
The brotherhood and the connection with the coaches are what make the Hurricanes different to him: "The overall brotherhood and my connection with the coaching staff for sure stands out."
