After attending the Hurricanes’ Spring Game in April, blue-chip four-star 2028 cornerback Langston Pridgeon received an offer from the Hurricanes’ coaching staff. He spoke to CanesInSight about his recruitment with Miami, and which schools are pursuing him the hardest.
According to the 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings, he is currently viewed as a four-star prospect. All three of the major ranking outlets, (Rivals, ESPN, 247) have him as a blue-chip prospect. He currently ranks as the No. 93 overall player, No. 9 cornerback, and No. 3 player out of Maryland. He measures in at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds.
Pridgeon plays for DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, where this past season he led the Stags to an 11-0 record, including 2-0 in their region. His sophomore stats have not been provided by MaxPreps; however, during his freshman season, he blew up totaling 55 tackles and eight pass deflections.
He currently holds 34 offers from Power 5 programs: Miami, Auburn, Boston College, California, Colorado, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, and Kentucky, among others.

Which schools are recruiting you the hardest right now?
Georgia, Ohio State, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Penn State, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Florida, and Notre Dame.
Where does Miami currently stand in your recruitment?
Miami is a high interest for me right now because the history of DB’s that have played there, and currently they are coaching DB’s at a high level, getting them ready for the next level. I don’t have a top-5 but Miami would be certainly near the top.
Do you have a timeline for when you would like to make a decision or narrow down your recruitment?
I plan to narrow down a list by mid-January.
Are you planning on releasing a top schools list or narrowing your recruitment anytime soon?
Not until after the season. 6/15 just passed so I am speaking with alot of schools and I am still trying to build relationships with coaches now that we can communicate regularly.
Do you have any upcoming visits planned to Miami or any other schools?
Trying to get down for a game this fall just working on a date that fits for family to make arrangements.
How do you feel like you would fit into Miami’s system?
My style of play matches Miami perfectly as I play to be the most physical person on the field and that’s what I see the Miami defense being the most aggressive team on the field at all times.
What stands out about Miami compared to the other programs recruiting you?
What I witnessed in the spring, which was a hyper competitive atmosphere, where everyone appeared to having fun competing at every aspect from warm ups to, individual drills, to live scrimmage plays. Players were going hard then getting back up and running to the next play I loved everything about that. That’s how I like to play football.
