he aint that good...no need rushing to go get drafted 5th round

Lol at Damien Harris being ranked anywhere in the top 10 for rbs?? Where do you all get this bs **** from?

Walton picked the wrong year to go into the draft especially coming off an injury. It’s a very deep draft class and quite a few of the running backs have more elite traits than Walton. I think he goes in the 4th or 5th round

It really doesn't matter what year he came out. Which is why coming out wasn't a bad decision for him frankly. The reality is that Walton is small and slow. He isn't, wasn't, and never was going to be a first round pick. There was nothing to gain by staying, and there is really nothing to lose by leaving as long as he is healthy enough by the time the combine rolls around. He is good enough to make a roster, what happens after that is a matter of how bad he wants it.

Until we can up our annual player salaries to be similar to NFL salaries for guys like this the way Bama, UGA and Clemson have, it is what it is...

This is what complete and total delusion looks like.

Yup. Clemson player outright says he’s never seen money like while he’s been at Clemson as a reason for not feeling a need to rush to enter the draft and you think those like me are the delusional ones for taking him at his word. Riiiiigghhhtt.

Have a good one Canes brother.

to me it seems easier to make more money by playing your way from round 2-3 from 5-6 your senior year than get drafted late and have to fight the low percentage battle of beating out the players teams are more invested in

It’s so much easier to play your way into a Second Contract if you are drafted in the earlier rounds. Directors of Player Personnel have more investment in you.

Walton's the exception here. Walton was never going to be a 1st round draft pick. He had enough tape to go onto the NFL.

He'll likely be an early day 3 pick and he'll stay on. This isn't Yearby leaving early.

Absolutely shocked that this kid is coming back. I guess with that backfield he won't have to worry about a ton of extra carrys.

Yeah I was never expecting him to be that high just stating alot of running backs declared or are draft eligible. He could have been one of the main guys next year instead of maybe 10-15 if that

Where is the Clemson players quote that you're talking about?

You think people are making similar salaries to NFL players?

The 4-year minimum base salaries for players in this year's draft are as follows: $465,000 (Year 1), $540,000 (Year 2), $615,000 (Year 3), $690,000 (Year 4). If eventually signed to a contract, each rookie drafted will get a 4-year deal, whereas undrafted rookies are only eligible for 3-year contracts.Apr 28, 2017

There is no way you're that delusional. Then again, maybe you are along with a healthy percentage of this board.

And how is that bad for a running back? u make a team u get paid the end.

Bare minimum, should he get a contract he will make more money than all but a few on this board in four years versus their entire lifetime. Poor guy, can't believe he went pro.

First hit when you type "clemson paying players" into the Google machine: https://247sports.com/college/miami/Board/92/Contents/Paying-Players-At-Clemson--7654189

Dude slipped up and told the truth. Obviously they've tightened up the ship since.

Start at about 1:28. "Being at Clemson, I've got more money and more resources than I've ever seen in my life."

Go ahead, keep going. I'm going to hang up and listen at this point.

Cheers, fam.

When Josh Jobe says he is decommitting from Miami (Hometown team, NFL tradition) and committing to Alabama (Rural south, 780 miles from hometown) because he has to do what's best for his family, what exactly do you think that means? I'm a family man, and it's rare to relocate for the best of your family without money being involved.

This has been my point all along with Walton. It's not that he wasn't going to be a 1st round pick, with his size/speed measurables, he was never going in the first 3 rounds.

True.

But being hurt your last year and only playing 3-4 games isn’t exactly going to help his draft status....

walton is a different case where he has special teams value. He will stick on a tea,m even if drafted in the 7th rd. Majority of the rbs coming out may have never played special teams since high school. walton has been on ALL of our special team units.
