Usually RB's go pro after their junior year because they have the shortest careers in the NFL but Bama can get them to return for their senior year. Somewhere along the line we have to start keeping these fringe middle-round guys and convince them to return for another go.

Until we can up our annual player salaries to be similar to NFL salaries for guys like this the way Bama, UGA and Clemson have, it is what it is...

We just have to get south florida talent to stay home. If we do that, it won't matter if skill guys are going pro after three. The trench monsters are a little bit of a different story since they often take some more time to mature and we don't quite grow them around here in sufficient quantities, but we've done ok there in the past as well. Let's see what happens on 2/7.

to me it seems easier to make more money by playing your way from round 2-3 from 5-6 your senior year than get drafted late and have to fight the low percentage battle of beating out the players teams are more invested in

Just posted this in another thread. I agree.

Where was he going? Kid wasn't exactly Derrick Henry. Running backs are not at a premium unless you have a freak of nature like Derrick Henry or a multi-skill guy like Christian McCaffrey.

Now that kid Najee Harris is going to take some of his carries next year. Good lord, he is an animal as a true frosh.

Rated higher everywhere than Mark Walton

This is what complete and total delusion looks like.

Can Cane "fans" stop swinging from 'bama's nuts every five seconds please?

There is a higher chance at this position than any other that you do not make it to your second contract. Getting paid more up front is a valuable option to consider if you reasonably stand a chance to improve your draft stock from late 2nd/early 3rd to 1st.

Getting Barkley, Guice, Love, Michel and Chubb out of his class may very well pay off for the kid if he does not sustain a serious injury next season, and may net him significantly more money in the long run as long as his trajectory isn't that of Frank Gore.

Yes, he is, but with Barkley, Love, Chubb, Michel he gets somewhat lost in the noise. I think he is rated higher than Sony in some projections. Mark needs the money.

I would include Rashad Penny (SDSU) in this class as well.
He may be just as good as these cats.
