4-3 defense. Should we go sprinkle it in some more?

Yeah... This defense isn’t exactly a new philosophy. The NY giants ran a “big nickel” as their base defense 6 years ago. It wasn’t earth shattering then and it’s not today. Many college and NFL teams have adapted to the current game.

This defense going to a base 4-3 puts its best players on the bench and worst players on the field.

That’s a hard pass for me.

I dont want Frierson off the field.

Kid is the goods when his head is int he game

Anyone recall 2017 with our "totally elite" linebacking core? So good that Logan Woodside, Kurt Benkert and others completely smoked our D in the mid-range passing game, especially on third down.

At this point, we should consider playing with a second striker.

“Pro style, bro!” Was the phrase for canes fans for years.

”4-3 bro!” Has the same kinda backward thinking to it.

I will say I still like the original Miami D a lot, but I think a 4-2-5 cover 1 defense is probably the one we should play over anything else. Simple, great against the run and pass, can run cover 3 off it, and use two man for third and long.

Read several msgs by posters above regarding, 4-3, 4-2-5 etc.
No such thing.

You can run any defense out of any players.
