Sad thing is if we could have found a way to beat a 3-8 (about to be 3-9) GTech, we are in control of the Coastal going into Durham.
This team had every opportunity, and the talent, to compete in the Coastal this season. The coaches did not do their jobs. The team was undisciplined, unfocused, and unable to navigate a bye week. There is no excuse for any of our losses except maybe UF, and we even had a chance in that game.
This season is a textbook example of poor coaching. I would be willing to give this staff a reasonable amount of time to get things going, as long as we see some sort of regular improvement week to week. The FIU debacle showed that this staff is probably incapable of taking decent D1 talent and competing in a weak conference division or against weak OOC competition. They need to destroy Duke and whichever team we see in our (yet another) crappy bowl game.
Short of two big wins to end the season, I think this coaching staff will lose the few fans still hanging on for signs of hope, and it will confirm that they lost the team weeks ago.
