I know there have been several posts regarding how bad our offense is on converting 3rd downs. Just read a post on where we stand statistically with Enos as our OC. I knew we sucked on 3rd down as we have for years, but 130th is just sickening.
Here is breakdown per game. Included our opponents 3rd down conversion rate also.
GAME 1: UF: 2-10, MIAMI: 2-14
GAME 2: UNC: 2-10, MIAMI: 3-11
GAME 3: BC (Bethune): 3-15, MIAMI: 4-9
GAME 4: Central MICH: 6-18, MIAMI: 1-10
GAME 5: VT: 9-16, MIAMI: 7-15
GAME 6: UVA: 10-19, MIAMI: 2-10
GAME 7: GT: 6-14, MIAMI: 5-13
GAME 8: PITT: 9-20, MIAMI: 2-14
GAME 9: FSU: 5-17, MIAMI: 3-15
GAME 10: Louisville: 5-14, MIAMI: 5-10
GAME 11: FIU: 6-14, MIAMI: 1-10
We Minus Louisville and VT, we are absolutely abysmal on converting 3rd downs. Our defense has regressed stopping the opposition on 3rd down. Seems like we do a better job stopping them on 3rd and short than on 3rd and long. And our offense can’t convert on 3rd and short to save their lives.
