That play is a microcosm of this ******* defense under golden/dorito. I would love to see a breakdown of our 'call' on that play using 22 tape. When they showed the replay I saw at least 4 guys back pedaling from the LOS like they were running from a fire, that's not including our 2 deep safeties. We basically GAVE them 10-12 yards. A sack on 2nd down and we had a chance to hold them to a long FG attempt. By GIVING them that yardage we essentially were GiVING them 3 points...in a game where we were already behind the 8 ball because of turnovers. Where is the sense of urgency? Where is the killer instinct? If there was a time in that game to pin our ears back and blitz a QB who has NEVER shown an ability to make reads/throw vs pressure, that was it. Instead, same old bull****...sit back in ******* zone and give away yards/pts. And what do our pu$$y coaches get for saying "phew, thank god...here guys, take the 3 points" ? Yup, exactly what they deserved...a tackling performance for the ages...I mean that was something that the early to mid 90 dolphins would have been proud of, where's JB Brown and Brian cox when you need them?

Most of us have made excuses for golden and some even for dorito. I know I have for both...but I'm done. I've put too much into this to sit and watch this ******* ineptitude. I will never have the same respect for golden if he doesn't bring in a fresh defensive mind. Golden is not a good X's and O's coach. It's one thing to lose games, but what we have seen in this year alone is a downright inability to stop anyone. Look at the amount of ******* yards we allowed to unc, tech, we, FSU, and vtech. Outside of FSU, there is no excuse for the performances in those other games. I've sat here and made excuses based on lack of talent. Yes, we do lack talent, but do we have any LESS than any of those teams outside of FSU??? AT WORST we have equal talent but I have to believe we still have more than them. For us to get outplayed in all but one of those games (gt) speaks VOLuMES about these coaches. The fact these kids never quit until FSU should tell u all u need to know about al...he is a salesman, he sold to these kids that they could beat anyone. Our wins in those games were IN SPITE of coaching because the kids believed. As soon as they faced an insurmountable deficit/opposition, there was nothing left to fight for. Same exact **** happened last night. I texted my friend the game was over at 14-7. Because now that these kids don't have some demented, cult like belief in goldens message there's nothing left to play for. There is no pride, no passion, and zero leadership.

Most concerning thing to me is lack of improvement. We saw this exact defense game 1 of the Golden era vs Maryland, doesn't seem like it has gotten any better.

I been saying this about Dnofrio's defense since he got here. His scheme is so soft. His players are so far back because he is SCARED to get beat deep, but this leads us to getting eaten up short even worse. I would gladly give up a couple huge plays in a game then let the other team continually chew us up inside. It also hurts our ability to defend the run because everyone is so far away from the play.

To those who say its Golden's scheme, that may be so, but maybe he would implement it differently than Dnofrio. I love Golden up to this point and the idea that I want him gone is not there yet, but if this scheme is truly his and Dnofrio is just running Al's stuff without his own influence, then we are going nowhere fast. Shannon might not have been great, but I never felt like the defense was this bad in scheme. He sucked at talent development, there was poor tackling, lack of depth and poor execution, but I always felt like the plays calls and the setup were decent, they just did not execute or have talent.

I don't even know if you have to pin your ears back and blitz. How about just tighten up some coverage and make Logan Thomas inaccurate *** have to make a tight throw. I don't know what our personnel was on that play but it should be something like AQM, Chick, Pierre, McCord up front a linebacker and 6 DBs. I wouldn't be surprised though if we had 3 god **** linebackers in the game.

Missed tackles were bad but why the **** are we giving them an easy 8-10 yards to begin with to get into field goal range. We are down and can't give up any points at that point but we were willing to sit back and give them a good shot at 3. If that doesn't bug you more than even the ****** tackling I don't know what to say.

I just said the scheme needs to Change u were right. But u ignore that the players suck too and u defend Morris' career 59% completion average. That screen doesn't count cuz coley did all the work. Morris completed 2 throws that had any impact on the game during 4 quarters. Ur flawed logic holds coach D accountable but give Morris a pass.

whatever guy S. Morris's career numbers had nothing to do w/ last night. he played a good game in the rain, ankle injury, w/ his targets dropping balls continually, yet still did enough from a QB stand point, the running game couldnt get going b/c D'onofrio had the entire offense playing catch up all game.

You cant admit that b/c you've spent all year on the D'onofrio bandwagon.... talent isnt the issue on this defense, simple as that, just put the Ranch Doritos down and face reality, ur boyfriend D'onofrio is WOAT. The talent Miami has is talent that a lot of schools fought to try to get on their team, he is making them look worse and doesnt even use all of the talent he has effectively.

ONE thing that I have seen this team improve GREATLY on is fundementals like tackling. Weve been tackling great all year until the last 2 games. I think we have guys trying to compensate and getting cute and trying to create turnovers, instead of taking care of business. THREE guys missed clean tackles on that play. All because they were trying to strip the ball instead of just taking the guy down.

It was a disaster of a night every which way. Everything that could have gone wrong did.

Watched the play. We had 5 dbs in the game with Cornelius and Perryman at LB. Va tech has 3 guys to left of the formation and 1 to the right. The guy to the right drags across the field and is the one who catches the ball. Everyone in coverage drops back deep leaving the middle wide open. Probably a fine call if its 3rd and 17 and they are in their own territory but when they 5-10 yards for a FG it just isn't understandable. Missed tackles aside.

The 3rd and 12 where they fumbled and scored Perryman blitzes and Cornelius just watches a guy run free through his zone to the spot where Perryman left. Nobody even left on that side of the field as it appeared we were in man on the two outside guys. If Cornelius knocks the guy off the route then its a potential sack or a difficult throw down field but we never knock a guy off a route. Not sure if we even teach it at this point.

Miami hasnt been tackling great since the Florida game.... the problem was and is the schem and it is D'onofrio.

He put them so far out in space where our LBs and DBs could get exposed underneath, its easy to make a defender miss when he's slipping in the rain while out in wide open space trying to make an open field tackle..... D'onofrio put them in that position.

He shouldve had them closer to the LOS and attacking the LOS and the football instead he had the entire defense playing like Logan Thomas was this all world talent at QB that can beat us at any point.... his philosophy, his scheme, and his coaching is the reason why VT scored 42 points and put up 549 total yards of offense.
