30000+

Miami sports fans in general are terrible. College and pro. Canes fans have rightly earned their t shirt, fair weather status.

I live three hours away and people here and everywhere in between think of Cuse as the hometown team. Did I mention we are supposed to get seven inches of snow tomorrow? There is skiing and ice fishing and SU basketball in the wintertime, that's it.

30,000+ is normal at Syracuse bball games. Crazy idea that fans will show up consistently in support when the team itself is consistently good.

With all of the exciting things to do in Syracuse in the winter, how could they possibly turn out that many fans for an indoor event?

Lemme see, no NBA team, no NFL team, no NHL team, no MLB team, no sunny beaches.... wait...I think I know why.

Yes and I agree with this. My point was that since Syracuse consistently fields a good team, and more than likely a very good team, year in and year out they have a very large fan base with fantastic support. As the poster above noted, people will routinely drive 2-3 hours to watch a Syracuse basketball game, rain, snow or shine, any day of the week and no matter who the opponent is.

And to your point about other sports teams, while there is no other major college really that close to Syracuse, there is the Sabres and Bills that aren't that far away. They also have very good fan support, except those fans show up whether they are good or bad, which they should be thankful for. As a Miami football fan in NY, I try to get to games when they are reasonably close to me. However, with the current state of the program, there is no way I would go to a game to watch them play until this coaching staff is gone. When the predictions were out for bowl games and many analysts had Miami-Penn State in the Pinstripe Bowl, a lot of my friends wanted to get tickets to go down and watch. I was praying to god every day that somehow that wouldn't happen, and thankfully Al Golden's coaching ability came through for me on that. So, if you want to complain about Miami fans being bad, maybe the school should take some initiative and do something that will gain back fan support.

And Cush apparently. Pass it!

30000+ fans at the Syracuse basketball game. Just saying.

How does 30000 look at SunLife?

UM has the worst fan participation in Div 1 college football.

Just a side note: attendance last night at the Bank United Center, on campus, was 5031. I don't know how many it holds but that doesn't seem to be a big following for a #23 ranked team at home. What's the point of all our whining on deaf ears?
Oh yea, does a 70 to 50 loss at home signify a team quitting on the coach?
Sports! Not as simple as it seems.

Total ungrad enrollment at 'Cuse = 24,500.

If you want to see what 30K looks like at Sun Life just wait til the Nebraska game. Could very well be a night game too.
