3 quick reasons why we lost this game.

…THIS
and no one is talking about it.

Staring at the receiver, waiting for the ball to be caught before reacting and even then just a push out of bounds, no attempt for even a pbu.

Could you imagine a pick 6 to start the game?

God do we miss Keonte.
I was ****ed lol, like wow, he really just watched the guy catch the ball.

You could see the guys on the sideline all expected him to make a play on the ball.

Game planning and execution, it’s that simple. 1st half game plan was not good and we did not execute on a lot of plays. We can get into all the things that we are missing to make this team into a perfect team, but that’s unrealistic. I like to focus on what we can control at the moment and those 2 things are the reason we lost.

1) Even though Carr was nervous at the beginning of the game, we never made him feel uncomfortable.
2) Mensah was made to feel uncomfortable all game.
3) Dawson - WTH. Did he know Toney wasn’t playing? Was he on vacation last week? Trash game plan.
I put this on Dawson. He simply can’t take a half off. It’s frustrating to see this continue to happen. Also none of his “cute” calls work. Just stick to what you do best.

Most frustrating calls I saw were these 2.
The QB runs at the goaline.
The 3 consecutive runs by Fletcher, the first being over 20 yards.

Low margin for error when you lose in the trenches
I think our d-line specifically DT held up well. 3.2 yards a carry on 29 carries is not losing in the trenches. This wasn't some bully job by ND. Our oline did struggle though, point still stands.

DTs were good.

Bonner traced a screen like a pro.

We need a DB coach reset yesterday.

DBs are lost like the field is 100 yds x 100 yds.

Lucas was better at UW, without horses to help, as a freshman.

Our lines are not very good at all .. looking forward we’re needing a massive portal haul both sides of ball
this. Our DL gets NO on the outside pressure outside of lightfoot. Ben finally had has freshman game today. People bash SJ but Ryan gets pushed around ALOT.

also, we called the first half scared then it was like we realized we can score without Mali.

Lucas was better last season, the full CB room was better last season, with the exact same players 🤦🏾‍♂️. Coach Terry needs to step his game up. He is a **** of a recruiter, but the CBs have for sure regressed under his watch

Our DL held them to 3.2 yards a carry on 29 carries. That's very good.

But you're correct on the pass rush. It was non existent although their OL held a ton.

Pass rush nonexistent. Allowed 21 pressures. Didn’t say we got bullied but we lost the battle

Our first half gameplan was to play in close. And it cost us.

Would love to see a Mario team play to aggressively early on.
