3 DE in the first 3 Rounds?

Rousseau didn’t have a serious injury and also it’s not the season for the tv gurus to start picking film apart and taking to anonymous scouts.

So before any of that begin, I have a Rousseau mid-end of the first round.

3 DE in the first 3-rounds of the draft seems to be a certainty.
Rousseau - 1st
Phillips - 1st/2nd
Roche - 3rd (maybe move into the 2nd?)

Has this ever been done before? That's some firepower that the Canes will certainly be touting on the trail.
I like Roche but he's not going 3rd round unless he puts up crazy Combine/Pro Day #s

Could you imagine how good these other 2 would look if Rousseau played this year and had to be accounted for? They would have murdered OTs left and right and their stats would be even better. I still hope Phillips comes back to work on top 10 draft status but if I were him, I would bolt with a second round grade given all of the injuries he’s been through. Granted The U has been a god send for him so maybe he wants to give back since he got 2 years of education and training with only one in giving back on the field. Stranger things have happened before.

I dont Trust Walter football, they had kaaya #1. Philips and Rousseau are EASILY the most talented dlineman in the draft. A team would be foolish to not take Philips with how well he’s done this year. And his injury concerns are a thing in the past now
Kaaya was that high the summer going into his jr year. Everybody was high on kaaya then

I mean Clemson had 3 defensive lineman in the first round and 1 in the second a few years ago but I hope this happens , it really will help with recruiting, we haven’t had any players go high in the draft , in a while .
Yeah they did...but I don't think they had 3 DE's in one draft. Could be wrong.

Phillips combine would need to be insane to go in 2. He would need some clean medicals on top of that to get into 1. This is a deep draft the first couple rounds.

Phillips not going first round. Not because he doesn’t have the talent to, but because he has one year of film after a serious injury. Why do we keep trying to put so many of our guys in first round based off one good season? Do we not understand that NFL teams “normally” don’t go off “potential” for first rounders.

RJ Mcintosh
Jonathan Garvin
Joe Jackson
What a horrible take. The tape thing is an excuse to tell yourself the kid should come back, he’s not. Garvin disappeared and quit his junior year and Jackson was never that good and should’ve came back. He got too big and his athleticism disappeared. Phillips is 6’6 and a freak athletically, hence why he was the number 1 recruit on some sites. He’s laid it out in the line every single game, enjoy the last few games he has left here.

Phillips may go round 1 if he keeps up this pace. I think it comes down to the combine for him, but I really think he has the measurables and athletic ability to be a 1st round guy. Only question will be the body of work and past injury hiatus. Roche is a bit harder to project. He isn't your prototypical DE in terms of measurables, and his production while good has not been where you would look past measurables and reach up into a higher round. I think when it is all said and done, Rousseau top 15, Phillips end of the 1st, Roche round 3-5.

Phillips is a 150% 1st round talent, that being said I doubt he ever goes 1st round and I say this because of his past injury history at UCLA and him retiring at UCLA. Fair or not NFL teams will red flag the crap out of him

Phillips needs to come back for next season... another year to get his body right. And another great year no reason he isn’t a lock top 3 pick.., if not #1 overall

Some smart team will get a bargain drafting Phillips at the end of the 1st round..Seems like a light went on for him the last few games and he’s been unblockable.

Because it’s a website on talking canes not a conversation among GMs that impacts anything

This is a real possibility

looking forward, not sure we have enough talent or tale that is ready enough for next year. Love Harvey and Williams experience but they are light and not sure they’ll be good at setting edge, etc. We may need another transfer here if Phillips goes

Can you imagine the recruiting momentum on the trail at that position if all 3 of those guys go in the first two rounds

Phillips is the most physically developed de in the country RIGHT NOW. If he did comeback he may go top 5 for sure but I can See why he would leave early too.
Regardless he’s having a great year

got 41 tackles 6.5 sacks 14 tackles for loss 1 int in 9 games

Didn't Rousseau break his leg his freshman year? That's a serious injury.
