Which is why NOW more than ever, I’m down on my alma mater. To give this backing to THIS guy let’s me know that at the Hecht now more than ever, there is zero interest in winning BIG and being the U. Never seen a coach who self sabotages leads a program to the promiseland.

Nah there is/was real interest in winning BIG. They put up big $$ because they thought Mario could out-recruit and outgrow his coaching deficiencies and Zo could build a top level football office around Mario.

You can be down on them for making a bad bet… but they were really trying to win.

Making a bad bet with that much at stake is no different than the lazy hires of Diaz/Shannon/Foldn. You get the same results. It doesn’t matter.

Mario is worse because there will be a time where it’s ALL THERE to be won. Maybe even a playoff spot, and remember me/this:

MAKE NO MISTAKE THIS GUY WILL MAKE THE MISTAKE. That’s his past, present, & future. And now sadly, likely ours.

After tonight I wonder if he will even ever get to that point. To me tonight was the inflection point. For him and for Miami. At some point recruits are going to stop buying his excuses. And I’m not sure who in their right mind would want to come work for him as an assistant…
