For those football-minded among you, why, in the name of Allah Golden, can we never own the second quarter? Maybe statistics don't support this--I don't have the wherewithal to look up detailed breakdowns--but I feel like our "brand" is to start fast, then do nothing for the second quarter and go into the half hemorrhaging yards.

Not sure about not owning the second quarter deal. It's an overall funk the offense has been in for some time now.

Against our bowl opponents last year, I believe Miami scored a total of (27pts) 3 3rd Q TD's ...with 12 3rd Q TD's against all competition.

7 total 4th qtr TD's against bowl opponents. And the same amount of TD's (12) against all competition. So, I think the 3rd Q has been the roughest in terms of scoring for the team.

However....this year, through three games, we've only seen 1 4th Q TD. And only 2 3rd Q TD's that happened yesterday. If someone said we would have only seen 3 second half TD's through 3 games...I wouldn't have believed it.

One stat that sticks out is offensive scoring, particularly in the second half. We had 7 games last year against teams that had winning records/Bowl teams? The three games this yr is too early to tell, so we'll add em to the list.

In Five hours of offensive possesion, we've seen 13 TD's and 1, I recall Gunter housing vs GT....So, that's 20 qtrs and 12 TD's, It's horrifyingly close to 1 second half TD per game, and might be, if I failed to remember another ST or D score.
