2nd half in all our losses this season.

The first half is very important but where a coach really earns his money is in the 2nd half. Multiple times this season this coaching staff has failed to make adjustments to their opponents in the 2nd half. This is a stat that makes me think Golden will never get the job done.

1st loss, Louisville. Halftime score was UL 14, UM 10. Canes outscored 17-3 in 2nd half.
2nd loss, Nebraska. Halftime score was Neb 17, UM 14. Canes outscored 24-17 in 2nd half.
3rd loss, GT. Halftime score was UM 14, GT 14. Canes outscored 14-3 in 2nd half.
4th loss, FSU. Halftime score was UM 23, FSU 10. Canes outscored 20-3 in 2nd half.

I wanted Al to succeed as much as anyone, but when your team is outscored 75-26 vs arguably the toughest opponents on your schedule its hard to defend the guy.
This team was within 1 possession in every loss this year, and in the other case had a 2 possession lead. Say all you want about the players having to make plays but when it happens on 4 separate occasions it falls on the coaches, period.

Were -8 throught the whole year which is less than a point a game... So do what about the wins?
The Canes wins came against FAMU, Ark State, Duke, Cincy, VT and UNC.. Im glad we got those wins but in the 4 games vs the toughest opponents on the schedule, they've been outscored in the 2nd half. To be honest all of the canes wins besides duke were out of hand by halftime. Any tough game thats been close in the 2nd half they've been outscored. You can say this FSU loss came from players missing opportunities but 4 separate occasions? thats all coaching.

It's not just in our losses. Take a look at some of our wins where we scored six points or less in the second half.

IIRC, we scored a garbage time TD against Nebraska on 4th down with 18 seconds left when we were down by 17. So the numbers could even be worse.

It has been a consistent theme... FSU, Duke, Louisville last year. ND and K State the year before. It is one of the most disturbing trends and is indicative of a coaching staff that is unable to make in game adjustments, especially against quality opponents.
