you ain't lying. I'm not sure about the rules but even if you lower your shoulder I thought if the defenders crown hits you above the shoulders that was illegal?

Not with these refs. They really made some bad calls - and missed a load of holds and things like this attempt to spear Allen.

Stevie Wonder could have seen that one.
 
Might catch some heat from some fellow old timers, but does anyone else see a lil Leonard Connelly to his game? Not just the #, but kid runs violent and much bigger than his size.

Clicked on this thread only to highlight this run so I’m glad you linked the video. This is a 4 point run. In the grand scheme, it didn’t mean a ton. But this was a 7 point game at the time, mid 3rd quarter. There’s a very good chance this is a 1 yard loss with any other back on the roster and we are kicking a FG. Instead, he makes a really impressive 2 yard run, drive continues, we score a TD, up 14, and we’re off to the races. Little things like this win you games. In the box score, it’s a 2 yard run on 3rd and 2. Cool, the line surged and we pushed forward for a couple yards. Nope. This is ALL on the back. Awesome run.

He’s also much bigger than Leonard Conley.

He had a TD run and I believe a 1st down run that were both similar to the 3rd and 2 vs USF! I've liked Allen since last year. Next year should be the Lyle/Allen show with Fletcher as a big red zone back and CJ in an expanded version of his role this year.

I don't think it's pass blocking (that's a bit overstated) with Allen, it's just there's a lot less carries to go around.

Compared to last year:

- Martinez is on pace for 64 less carries
- Fletcher is on pace for 37 less carries
- Allen is on pace for 15 less carries

Everyone's sacrificing for the good of the team.

I'd like to see Ajay get more carries too, but we're (correctly) leaning on the strength of our passing game, so there's just not a lot of opportunities.

The cutback on third down was a thing of beauty. I’m really glad he didn’t hit the portal after last year.
