247 update on 2016 WR Binjimen Victor

Maybe with what was said. Changes what I just said.

According to Pete, Richards being taken as an athlete.

Kid could be a star in the defensive backfield or as a WR. If you watch his tape, smooth run style like Coley. Not as fast as Coley but he's got speed. Great ball skills and has a knack for the endzone on offense and defense.

Great pickup. I want him on offense though. Good size at 6'3" too. Going into his junior year now, gonna get stronger too.

I'm still shocked. I thought we had no chance at all with him.

Personally I think Richards is a WR all the way. And I wouldn't change it!

MOAR Wideouts....MOAR

It appears too many WRs is the new "does he play DT".

All of sudden we got a ****load of people concerned about roster management when we've been playing 4-5 under the limit even before sanctions hit and attrition at spots happens every year.

I'll stick to what I had said a while back. I expect 5. 6 maybe. 7 the most.

I don't count Irvin as WR. Staff taking him as a TE.

Well with Craig's commit to Auburn the other day. Like I had felt from before, knew he wasn't staying in state just like other people felt too.

And now Salomon's legal issue now with UGA. Like I said before. Theirs no shot at those two. Felt their wasn't a shot to begin with. Salomon was going to LSU or if it happened by chance, Clemson. He wasn't coming here.

Neither of them were coming here. Craig wants out of state, Salomon legal issues now? No chance I see us continuing pursuit with Salomon, kid might not even end up at LSU anymore. Might end up at like Marshall or WVU.

Only way I could see the smallest chance of us getting Craig, is if we do very well and land Shavar Manuel in 2016. Only way. And that's a lot of hypothetical.

I would take Pender first. If Victor commits first I'm ok with that too. We won't be able to take all the WR's every year some some good ones gonna be playing elsewhere.

With Snelson, Mullins and Bruce on board would he be the last WR for 2016 if he commits? We'll definitely have our big receivers if he does.

Nope. The tall WR in 2016 will most likely be Pinder.

Think the likely big WR's is either Victor and Pinder or both, and I can't see us passing on both if we have the opportunity to get both.

You could factor in Brandon Johnson too, but he's more lankier than those two.

Then you got Newbold. Speed, moves and ability to score anywhere. That's drawed comparisons to Coley. I've watched Newbold few times, let me tell you. He is one we can NOT turn down.

Irvin being viewed as a TE.

The younger Ridley only happens if big brother comes here. So that's still a big question mark. And he's viewed more of a RB than WR at this point.

Then finally, do we turn down stud Cali wr Dymond Lee? Brad Kaayas favorite target who's first offer was from us?

The ship is getting tight at WR for 2016. I was surprised we got ahmmon today. Ship is taking off the dock soon.

Theirs also Salomon and Craig. But I really view no shot at them. But then again, I thought we had no shot at Ahmmon. So we'll see.

Just get Newbold on board for 2016 and figure out the rest. That's who I want.

Since Richards is being taken as an ATH -- likely because he's capable of playing FS at the next level -- there's likely, at most, one more spot available at WR for 2016.

Let's not forget that we have three truly elite receivers already committed in Bruce, Mullins, and Snelson. That's an A+ haul if they all stick, even if we don't add anyone else at the position. There are only so many spots available, and we couldn't have possibly gotten out to a better start here. Instead of focusing on the ones who are still undecided, it's much easier to celebrate the studs who've decided (for now, at least) that they want to stay home.

It may come down to Pinder or Victor for the last spot, if they intend to take four because of the caliber of talent at their disposal. But I can't imagine they'd take more than that, especially after taking 3-4 in the 2014 cycle (depending on whether you view Njoku as a WR or TE) and likely 3 again in 2015. The numbers do matter.

Richards is coming in as a wideout too

I view Njoku as a TE. Gray gonna end up a RB if he makes it here, IMO.

Brady, Berrios and Langham. WR's all the way.

For 2015, we're holding spots for Peete and Ridley if they come. Maybe Durante.

You also have to factor, SBB and Gibson could play WR too. But that's if they come. I think SBB regardless where he goes starts out as a Safety. And Gibson as a QB and if he doesn't pan out, to WR.

I doubt we get all of them though.

Someone gets shoved out if they do come and I think it's Chatman. I like chatman but he is out of state and it wouldn't surprise me if he burns us for in state LSU if they come calling after his senior year, his best friend is committed to LSU too and they want to play together.

I know everyone worried about Williams in our 15 class, I'm most worried about Chatman honestly.

As for Gosier and Spence.

I believe staff is very high on Gosier and for good reason, he could develop into a nightmare for DBs. 6'6" and great speed for his size.

Spence, staff is high on him. I'm high on him too. He is going to continue to blow up, Anyone who's seen him play in person, knows. I don't want to lose Spence like we lost Rudolph in 2014. Spence WILL blow up.

Now, For 2016.

I view Mullins and Richards as athletes. If it's needed, they can play safety. Even though I would love to have them at receiver.

Snelson and Bruce more pure receivers, I can't really see them playing another position here.

So what's left on the board. Especially with what has transpired with Craig and Salomon. Which was expected, neither of them were coming anyways.

WR:
Dymond Lee (CA)
Brandon Johnson
Steve Newbold
Freddie Pinder
Binjimen Victor

TE:
Michael Irvin Jr. (TX)
Jacob Mathis

You got two cane legacies in Johnson and Irvin.

Obviously we're going to take Irvin. Irvin being viewed as a TE.

I would gladly take Irvin and Mathis as TE's for 2016 class.

Then you have 5 left for WR prospects we are in for in Lee, Johnson, Newbold, Pinder and Victor.

I'm not even throwing Cavin Ridley in the equation right now. He only comes if Calvin comes. And Cavin is projected at this point to RB. And his grades from what's been told, are REALLY BAD.

Johnson dad played baseball here. And Johnson not a bad prospect. He's a good one. Do we take him? He has connections in the program already. He plays at the same school as Snelson and Gibson. We'll see how that plays out. Do we turn him down?

Then Lee, Kaayas favorite target. Kaayas teammate Bar Milo 2015 OL might commit to us in the next few weeks. Do we turn down Lee cause of all the talent that's in state? That's a big question.

Victor, I've heard it's either Miami or Bama. Pete said Victor close to commiting to Bama, but we've heard reports he's close for Miami too. Miami was his first offer. Either way, for him to lock up his spot, he's gonna have to decide soon. Do we pass on him?

Pinder, first offer from Miami. Jumbo size receiver. And staff loves him and he's from the Ridge. Do we pass on him?

Then you got Newbold, my personal favorite. Who everyone has heard raves about. Do we pass him up? He's right in our backyard, those Carol City kids are always legit. It could be possible too that his qb Buckshot could develop into our 2nd qb for 2016 with Allison. And Newbold is a legit contender to be someone who shoots way up the rankings after camps and the season. The hype everyone puts on him, it's real. You got to see this kid play.

Theirs still a lot in play. But only so many can be taken. It's really up to what the staff wants.

I can't even play out a scenario. First come, first serve is what I'm thinking at this point. Richards commitment definitely threw a wrench into it. Cause I never thought we had a shot at him.

Again. 5. Maybe 6. Most 7. Depends also how 2015 receiver class pans out. If we really strike out in 2015 on Peete, Ridley and Durante. Could see a very good chance of 6 or 7 taken.

Remember. Transfers and position changes happen all the time. It will all work it's self out.

I just like Freddie Pinder better, I know they're both good, it doesn't really matter, I feel like since he's from north Broward and played on the same 7v7 team with Calvin Ridley and SBB, he will be influenced to join Alabama.

All of the monarch and creek kids are influenced on Bama. Cause we need to win games my friend. Otherwise, their all gonna burn us. The 2017 receiver Jerry Jeudy from Monarch already has Bama as his leader and we're second.

And we need to dig deep in there cause they have studs for some years now in that area

It's come out on reports and from other people that SBB and Ridley love the U. So we really got to show them something for them to want to come here. They were close to coming here and we fell behind.

2015 -
Calvin Ridley
Shawn Burgess-Becker

2016 -
Trayvon Mullen
Cavin Ridley
Binjimen Victor
Malek Young

2017 -
Emmanuel Greene
Jerry Jeudy

Calvin Ridley & SBB are Miami fans, But they probably don't love the coaching staff, facilities, and stadium attendance compared to Alabama. Some guys grow up fans of a school, but then they out grow it.

And SBB is gonna get immediate playing time at Alabama.

Ridley would probably be better off at Miami because they feature the skill positions more than Alabama does. The offense at Miami is more WR friendly opposed to Alabama. But They wanna play together so....

SBB only playing time will be on special teams the first two years. but they are supposedly coming to U day.

We'll see.... But They come to almost every event. When are they gonna flip?

If SBB play WR which i think they will switch him too and he is going to be really mad he will get alot of playing time. but Saftey? No. I dont think they will flip even if we do have a great season. They loving all the attention of being Bama commits and it looks like Ridley wants to be there. They have a 5 star QB also so he knows what they are getting.

SBB & Ridley are Canes if we improve, win our division and show life on defense.

They were close to coming here and I believe they got caught up in the Bama hype when they went up there. But these kids are constantly still around the Miami program and we're throwing up the U 24/7. Both were decked out in Miami gear everyday on Monarchs campus and at camps. It's been noted someone spoke with Ridley and he said he still likes Miami. We're gonna have to wait till after the season. Not gonna say 100% but their is a chance if we do what's needed.

It's happened to players before. Cole got caught up in the FSU hype and he's looking more and more to flip as the days go by.

Artie Burns almost went to Bama as well as Deon Bush. Artie was committed to Bama at one point.

This ain't over for a while.
