What excuses do we have this week?

Updated after today:

Last 2 years vs Power 5 teams

Walton 146 carries 454 yards 3.1 ypc
Yearby 194 carries 881 yards 4.5 ypc

This year:

Walton 53 carries 165 yards 3.1 ypc
Yearby 29 carries 178 yards 6.1 ypc


Not to mention Yearby is more deadly 1 on 1 vs LBs in the pass game. It isn't close who the better runner is.

Its more incompetent offense from Richt. Not only is the scheme, play calling broken, the personnel is equally bad.
 
The OL just isn't up to the task. They don't push the defense beyond the line of scrimmage. The OL is not capable of the power running game that wears defenses down and makes them vulnerable to the pass. When the OL becomes top 10, then UM's offense can talk about being back.

Yearby made that linebacker miss yesterday in the hole but he doesn't have the speed to house it. Than we had to settle for a field goal. It's time to give Homer some carries

two things I don't understand . One inside the 10 yard line that where gus should be in the game with a big full back. Homer not getting the ball

We havent had an elite rb in a longtime.....before yall mention names im talking bout elite like a guy that goes off onour toughest teams we play like fsu. That show up all the time for big games.

Yeah I was disappointed, but not surprised, by Yearby being easily caught on that run. It's why he's good, but not elite.

I think he'll be Kevin Faulk in the pros if he goes to the right team.
 
Walton and Yearby are good football players. Yearby is the better running back Walton is the better athlete. They are rarely going to make that play against the better teams on our schedule. As someone said above, if we are not going to use Gus inside the 5yd line when will he ever play? Richt needs to come up with a plan to use these different players because it appears Coley is very limited with his knee right now. We really have zero homerun threats on offense right now and our offensive line is not good enough to pound out 12 play 80yd drives. Start getting Homer involved
